Luis Suarez infamously handled the ball on the line to stop Ghana scoring a last minute goal against Uruguay when the two sides met in the 2010 World Cup. Asamoah Gyan missed the resulting penalty and then Ghana were knocked out in a shootout.
Speaking ahead of the rematch at the 2022 World Cup, Suarez has said he doesn’t need to apologise as it wasn’t his fault that Ghana went out.

You are right….i remember that day as an African frustrated man but I think the penalty was a good gift. Our boy was to blame

Why sorry and move on ? To be honest, he did the right thing. He did it for his country. He sacrificed for his country. Ghana got the opportunity to score the same but they missed. Exactly it’s not his fault, cos he did it intentionally to safe his country.
2:02 what is she talking about? Why sjould he feel sorry?
Which idiot expects an apology for that ? Suarez was doing what any player with pride in representing his country would in a game like that.
I still dont understand the whole theatrics around this. Whats the difference between what he did and a technical foul? They are Both an intentional foul, sacrifising yourself for the team without harming the opponent physically. I would applaud him or anyone else for this anyday
HE SPEAKS ENGLISH??
apologize? People are aware that he got the red card and the referee called the penalty, right?
Why tf should suarez say sorry if they pissed a penalty the woman in the last pay saying just say sorry move on is a absolute clown
“Just say sorry and move on.” Wtf why would he apologies if he’s not in the wrong
it most definitely his fault
Ghanaian national players are very lucky that "Count Alusuares🧛♂️" didn't bite any of them.
Wat a stupid question
Apologize for what? I am a Nigerian and I love my Ghanian people but the man owes no one any apology.
Great answer,,, apologies for wat
Rat
No cap tho
Stupid question from the reporter, excellent response from Suarez🤣😂😆!!
His English is still poor
he’s right. im not even a Suarez fan, but he’s absolutely right. Why would he apologize? It’s part of the game.
That reply 😎🔥😅
I agree with suarz
That's an African Nigeria I respect that answer
He did what he had to do for his team…why it's a big deal 😂😂
Why sorry penalty is the consequence for the handball
Man he’s 100 per cent right he didn’t shoot penalty
Top response from Suarez.
How many times I said this: tactical fouls ain't cheating and morally wrong, biting players and being racist is. Did Suarez bite or being racist to any Ghanian player that day? No. Is he was being unsportsmanlike? Yes, arguably even. But for that, he became the hero for Uruguay. And no way a foul near goal post should be awarded a goal, the defense will be open wide, and attacking opposition will face no threat to score a goal. Stupidity. Just show that Ghana will be better today and beat Uruguay. If that's what should be required to shut Suarez mouth off
Suarez helped his team advancing to semifinal, so why would he ask an apology? Stupid journalist asked stupid question but got an absolute answer. Basically no one is responsible for this situation, even the one who missed the penalty, because he didn’t do it purposely and Suarez used his maximum effort to help his team.
“Just apologize and move on” oh shut up. No one owes anyone an apology for something that happened in sport 12 years ago. Why would he apologize for something he’s not sorry for. Says the woman who never competed on a stage close to this
Sorry for what!?… this woke generation is such a great pain in the backside. Now we're about to have robots play football, where computer's eliminate every chance of fouls and errors. Sorry!! Is this a love relationship????
Meanwhile Lukaku's missing chances but has found a target punching through glass
As a Ni giri an I wood haf tu sa i' woz no a pen al tee
Who in their right mind would apologize for getting a red card and conceding a penalty
'Just say sorry, move on' Luis has no reason to say sorry….you're the one that needs to move on…
Ghana should move on. Bloody 12 years ago and demand apology. Get over it. Apology dont make a difference
This player is a joke!
