GUYS what do you think of Valentin Barco coming to liverpool as a lcb and future replacement for Robertson? Left footed only 19, cheap to buy and apparently the next big thing! A deep dive on why he could be a good signing or not?

Also, I don’t think VVD is anywhere near his best…but the level he operates is still better than most.
I think he positions himself more smarter now. I think Pickford took away his explosive speed. So he’s the more passive centre back. He’s the leader and the organiser. I think he uses Ibou to scrap and destroy and Virgil is the calm one.
Is there any correlation between the stats and player ratings over the seasons?
I understand that in football we have to create narratives and storylines. But the season after his injury we went on an incredible run and almost won all 4 competitions. So the storyline that his injury caused him to lose pace or his quality, doesn’t quite square away with actual reality. He came back and was amazing. Well now theres another Jarrell Quansah shaped shark swimming in the Liverpool waters with Very capable abilities at CB I'd imagine VVD game has improved because it has to plus he's the captain he can't be shit and barking out orders on the pitch .
I still can't believe Little Arms got away from that horrible misplaced tackle or even a penalty given.
He's back to his best, all he needs is a few good performances in big games for the wider footballing world to take notice and start giving him the respect he deserves again.

Don’t think he’ll ever be back to his best. Those imperial years are gone but it doesn’t mean he’s still not a top centre back and still in the top 3 in the premiere league..

Great vid as ever. I think VVD is looking as good as he's looked for a long time but he's not back to his best & never will be as he's had a bad injury & in football terms is getting old. However he's so good, he's still better than 99% of the CB's in world football imo.
News flash as you get older you slow down even footballers
Virgil was always class but let's not forget he had fabhino in front of him protecting him . That's gone now so he's more open there's reasons for these things but he is and always will be world class.
