  1. I think NP was looking for a way out anyway, here he gets a golden handshake and City can plan on the next few years with a new manager. No point going into next transfer window with a manager who might likely leave beit sacked or left thru ill health. I was not shocked and actually forecast it after last home game based on his public comments about his contract. We all need to get behind new manager and don't dwell on the past. Onward and upwards. COYR.

  2. We had the Johnson Clowns signing average players for loads of money and the years of circuses after them. Lee Johnson had massive backing and underachieved terribly because he's a quirky bloke and dodgy manager. They were chums with the Landowns.
Steve Cotterill was a good man but again was given a whole load of cash he didn't know what to do with.
We had Holden who was a lovely man but a novice.
We blamed Ashton for all this. He went to Ipswich who are now in promotion places…. Says a lot.
Hire Pearson who has an amazing track record but has his hand tied by the mismanagement of the club for the years preceding him, leaving him with no money.
He gets our youth going, sells youngsters for good money, steadies the ship and then gets sacked.
There's a common denominator here. It's Steve and his Son, who treats this club like a toy. Jon hasn't got a clue.
I'd say to any manager looking at Bristol City, steer clear.
You think you can do better than Nigel Pearson with all his experience? No
    The Lansdown circus continues

  3. PR bull£&@t why didn’t you go on sound of the city last night and instead opt for a 3 minute rehearsed peice of bs like this. The fans will be passionely chanting ‘landowns out!’ At the weekend!

  4. So City fans are pleading for real conclusive answers from JL and the board but all he can give us is 2 minutes of scripted bull, half of which contradicts itself. It’s little wonder the fans are losing faith in the board right now.

  5. He’s right! Under Pearson we were going nowhere above the bottom half of the table. That’s his record here in nearly four years and 23 players brought in. And for the supporters who think because we sold players for millions, like Scott, we should have used that money, they obviously have no clue about the ridiculous fair play rules that tie teams like us down and threaten us with points deduction. If the board choose the right person this time and we start winning every week dear Nigel will soon be forgotten, as everyone knows! Hope his health issues go away though.

  6. The league table is not a realistic guide to ability until about 35 games into the season. After a quarter of the season if we had 5 more points we’d be in the play offs, and with 5 less and we’d be 21st. This gamble feels like hitting on 18 when the dealer already has a 7.

  7. The squad is good enough to challenge for promotion- how do you work that out? You lot sold Semenyo & replaced him with a bloke from Luton who looks more like a parks player with every game I see him play

  8. I’m so disappointed. Nige was the best manager we could have asked for in the clubs circumstances and he’s done brilliantly without any financial backing. Got rid of mediocre players with high wages, developed youth players and sold a couple for almost 40 million yet he gets none of that money to sign quality players. What a joke!
