Its very obvious that Arteta wants a keeper that can play as an extra outfield player so the whole team can press higher ; until and unless Ramsdale learns how to pass the ball better he'll always be 2nd choice

I feel as though Mikel has overthought this, although a backup netminder was needed since the american keeper was leaving. It’s been said that Raya is doing what Arteta wants, but he has looked shaky at times these last few matches.
Rory is the first 'analyst' to discuss the Ramsdale/Raya competition positively given that all the others only know the words 'leave' and 'betrayal' forgetting that being benched is a good wake-up call, being challenged can create an improvement needed from players otherwise should every player leave a club bse someone new has joined in their same position or role?
Bro… how do you earn back what you didn’t rightfully lose? Come on man. Such a simpleton approach. Arteta dropped Leno for a different type of goalie and he hadn’t done anything wrong. Whether Raya is one or not is another debate, but an upgrade is to move up a level due to better performance indicators and not due to unknown limitations. When you get a player, you damn well know what they can and cannot do. With that said, Raya is not an upgrade across the board. He is a niche goalie who has good feet so long as he is not under pressure from both on field players and the fans. I doubt he will recover any time soon from the horrible gaffes he has made.

Raya could play in any Championship side midfield….. Would any Legue 2 side be comfortable with Aaron in the midfield?
