Canada already has a global star in Alphonso Davies, Bayern’s electric, European Cup-winning wing-back. But is it about to have a second? Free-scoring Jonathan David completed his move to Lille over the summer and his route to the top of the game has been even more extraordinary.

Man how i would have loved to have seen him at Gladbach, him and Thuram would have been an amazing combo
Is he struggling in Ligue 1?
I live in Ottawa where he came from. Glad to see someone from here doing so well. Too bad Canada only has David and Davies in terms of quality. The rest of the team is made up of MLS players and players out of top 5 leagues in Europe.
613 shit!
An Ottawa soccer export.
I'm glad he resisted TFC and went his own path. He's growth would've been stunted had he went the MLS route. Maybe in the future but for now our young talent should seek going abroad. Until the facilities and and such over here finally catch-up.
Most expensive? Davies?
Gonna be a legend
0:59 'centrepiece of the club's attempt to requalify for the Champions league'
I guess that worked out rather well
Here after LOSC won Ligue 1.
Hi! I am from Belgium and born in Gent and i just wanna put some appreciation on how he is one of the first americans who said Gent almost absolutely perfect (the g is a little softer)
Now he won a title for Lille.
and now he's just won ligue 1
is anyone here after lille won the league with david
As a canadien it’s great to see a good canadien soccer player 🇨🇦
Welcome to Liverpool FC 👀
1 year late, but seeing my university animated as a depiction of Ottawa to start off a Tifo Football video was very cool 👍🏻
He is surprising. Real talent and genuinely original individual and player. The hardest part is behind him, now, he believed in himself all this time and worked consistently to achieve his objectives. He made a name of himself, Now is reward time for him and it's deserved,
No do one for Christine Sinclair
Canada has far more football pitches in every neighbourhood than the US.
As a haitian its very embarassing to see Haiti spell wrong
Welcome to Home of European Champions!
It’s so impressive how calm in the box he is. Watch a compilation of his goals and for half of them it almost seems like he slows down time, calculates the perfect shot, and just calmly slots it there.
Canada should take a long hard look at them selves in the mirror. Okay so qualifying for the World Cup is a milestone considering the women’s team got gold in the Olympics. If they don’t score a single goal again like back in 86 then nothing has changed. I swear.. it’s so obvious that Canada needs a freaking wake up call. The fact that Owen Hargreaves didn’t even want anything to do with Canada and just f-off to England says a looooot. Fml playing my years here was a total waste. Only recently does it seem kinda hopeful that the talent here in this country is recognizable. There is a lot of freaking awesome talent here in Canada. The couching and administration is garbage here and I’m sorry if u r one of those people reading my comments but it’s true and it’s ur fault. Stop trying to b some bland old school wana b English German soccer 1940’s gym coach and learn how to freaking play the game. If we actually took the hockey development strategy’s and translated then to the youth for soccer then Canada would maybe consistently qualify for the World Cup. Maradona was right when he said that Mexico is the only team that stands a chance of producing in 2026 when that U.S and Canada r comparatively a joke
"Born in the United States, Moved to Haiti at 3 months old, then emmigrated to Canada at 11"…My exact journey!
