Rodri would change top teams to champions haaland cant
Ale thinks his feelings are worth the same as Sam’s facts…
How is this a question it's obviously Rodri,Kdb and Ruben dias
Its KDB
Its rodri, alvarez, kdb
HAT 🧢 TRICK HAALAND ⚽️⚽️⚽️
Rodri is the Heart 🩵
KDB is the Brain 🧠
Haaland is the Legs 🦵🏻🦵🏻
Erling Haaland is the top scorer in the premier league with 8 goals in 8 games averaging a goal a game and he's not been at his best of late, his finishing and performances have been off and despite his goalscoring record we're having this conversation about whether Erling Haaland is even the best player on Manchester City. It's true Kevin De Bruyne Rodri or Ruben Dias can be more important to the way the team is set up. it isn't Haaland's job to be involved in the buildup play, drop back and get the ball, he's a natural number 9 who's doing his job consistently well which is scoring goals and he's missing chances and at the end of the day, he's one of those players who wins you many games/trophies as well due to how impactful he is in the final third and that's the only aspect in how he's important for Manchester City and it does feel like he's not the best player on the team at times.
Rodri is the most important player on Manchester City right now. When he was suspended for 3 domestic games, City lost all 3 of those games and that highlights how important he is to the team and he's one of the most irreplaceable players in world football. If you look at that midfield, the profile of players they have to replace him it's a big step down from him.
Even though Erling Haaland had the most goals in the champions league, there's a reason why Rodri won champions league player of the season after the final and that's because of his hard work, consistent performances, defensive awareness, passing, composure shooting and also he showed up for Manchester City in the most critical games unlike a certain Norwegian striker who had 0 goals 0 assists and limited touches of the ball. UEFA recognized how impactful of a player he is to this team and he makes them tick and it was just a perfect example on being an impactful player on a successful team isn't just about goals and assists, as it was about influence and what you bring to the team. Now we see how weak Manchester City are without Rodri and with him playing every game, they're winning the title, if he gets suspended or injured, they'll struggle without him. Of course the season is still very early, it's long Man City will rebound from this slump, and I advise fans to start paying more attention to football the games and how these players play not just pay attention to only statistics and he doesn't dominate the stats sheet, when he's on the field you'll see a staggering difference in the team's performance.
Manchester City may have gotten results and the likes of Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez are playing very well right now, you can argue that the team is still not at their best and injuries haven't helped and at times they have missed Kevin De Bruyne. They're an elite team and it's easy to overlook how impactful Kevin De Bruyne is to Manchester City as they've won some premier league titles without him, his creative presence has been missed as his long term absence has affected their overall performances of late even if in games they don't need to play well enough to win. Erling Haaland has missed his presence, and whenever he's on the field, he elevates Manchester City jus like Rodri, they're a better team with him on the field and from a performance perspective this season, they're a different side without their talisman since he's elite at both scoring and creating goals. He'll come back in late December and early January and once Kevin De Bruyne is fit, you'll see a better version of Manchester City and we know they like to hit their peak in the middle and end the season on a high and when he returns, they'll be a much better team.
City aren't losing becuase they lost Rodri. They're losing because they've lost Rodri, KDB, Mahrez, and Gundo.
Then Rodri should be second of the ballon d’or
I'm pretty sure guardiola would pick Halland over rodri
City are a team not individuals. Hence when you remove a couple of crucial players it struggles to work right.
Haaland didn’t score a goal against Wolves neither in Arsenal's match and did practically NOTHING throughout the match. No chances created or even attempted. Meanwhile Alvarez, who didn’t play the full match, took a few shots, came the closest to scoring when he pressed Raya, and at one moment even cleared an Arsenal corner off the box.
People will always argue that goal scorers are the most important part of a team as if a goal can exist in a vacuum.
Haaland didn’t score, Alvarez didn’t score, but look at the usefulness of the both of them outside goalscoring.
ESPN are funny. All the time obsessed with whose best rn. Bellingham after ten matches in Real Madrid, even if Mbappe has been the best player in the world for a couple of years, and Haaland the best striker for a season. Soon as they are a little bit off form, ESPN are ready, lobbying for mutiny.
And football fans seem desperate to argue for players being better than Haaland. It’s not difficult, he’s a pure number 9, many are better than him in different ways, and certainly over defined periods of time.
I agree that Rodri has been the best for about 6 months now, but if I was building a team, like Ale argued, Haaland would be my first pick, anytime (which to me is the definition of MVP, his estimated price tag tells the same story).
As Ale says, there are lots of great midfielders, true goalscorers are rare. Haaland’s record of one goal a match no matter which team he’s been playing for since he was 19, is most rare. Which means most difficult to replace, most important, most valuable.
Alvarez can replace him in some matches, but not over an entire season. He’s a very good goal scorer, but lacks pace, size and power to be the same constant threat to defenses over time, even though he is a better allround player, or maybe exactly because of that (Haaland is a weapon, Alvarez a tool).
Disagree with Ale on this one. Rodri is #1 for city. KDB is #2. Haaland vanished in big matches so he has to take a hit because of that. Alvarez is killing it everytime he plays. On current form Alvarez is in front of Haaland too. If we are going to say that for someone who is not effective in every match they play they can get a high ranking then Bernardo Silva would also be higher in ranking. Haaland is top 5 and arguably in top 4 but no in top 3 let alone the very top for city. And this is why if Madrid offer big money I am 100% sure Pep will let him go.
Alvarez id the MVP , he saved them multiple times. Not Haaland , not Rodri.
