I am not a fluent english speaker (nor writer 😊), just a spanish one, but for the case it''s the same thing. Just to be respectful with foreign languages, I reckon that every sport reporter should learn that, in Turkish, that "ğ" in the name Gündoğan is absolutely mute, it is not a "consonant" really, but a sign for enhancing the last vowel. So, that name has to be pronounced "Gündo'an", with the french "u". That's all. Sorry for my intromission.
