It’s only because Raya can play the ball with his feet and he can’t even do that. Ramsdale is better everywhere apart from actually passing the ball, but for Arteta that suddenly means more than having an actual competent GK.

But he was as nervous and mistake riddled as raya was against city and got changed because arteta wanted to play from the back. Would have I changed him? I see Arsenal and United's keeper situation very similarly. Onana and Raya have come in, and the two former starting keepers in De Gea and Ramsdale have been swept to the sidelines (with De Gea straight up being released). Now they've got their primary targets they've both blown up a bit in their faces, and you've gotta wonder what would've been if they just stuck with their original keepers. At least with Arsenal they didn't release their best keeper and they still at least have Ramsdale, but only if he still wants to play for them given the situation. It's gonna be one interesting rest of the season.
