      They might not throw the game completely but unless the players really hate Ireland I don't see them scoring. If you're in front of goal one-on-one with the keeper with the chance to qualify for the Euro 2024 if you don't score you're not going to score.

      In theory, this could be true but in this instance it isn’t as there are guaranteed to be more than seven teams ahead of Ireland. Even if some of the current seven qualify, they will take the place of another team above Ireland in the rankings (eg Ukraine can qualify automatically but only at the expense of Italy so the overall number of teams ahead of Ireland doesn’t change). Ireland can still qualify for the playoffs but only in a way that doesn’t affect the Netherlands so they do not need to lose that match .

      No, no, no. The Netherlands are practically guaranteed to qualify either way. Even if they lose to Ireland, they're still qualified unless Greece get a result against France. And even then, a win against Gibraltar on the final match day will still secure qualification. The Netherlands failing to qualify is such an unrealistic scenario that Ireland really don't need to worry about it.

      While interesting, I think the matchup against Italy VS Ukraine's euro automatic spot is actually super overlooked. I don't mean to offend Ireland nor Greece, but the Netherlands losing after Ireland only managed to beat Gibraltar, then facing them away? Yeah that's probably not gonna yield any results.

      guys, ireland are so shit that they don't need to do any suspicious throwing of that game (and the netherlands are pretty good anyway so yeah), and they'll probably lose in those playoffs anyway

      Ä°t is not like that though. There are 3 play-off parts for League A, B and C. Greece won their group in League C so they have an assured place in the playoffs. There are some rules for the playoffs. The group winners from League A, B and C have an assured place in the playoffs, but if they qualify, their spot is given to the next best team in the league. And if there are a lot of teams that qualified from a league (for example League A), the Path A will get the best ranked teams from League B which haven't qualified. And Ä°reland is pretty low on that list because they finished third in their Nations League group

      So you say ireland lost to us greece and we lost to netherlands and france only though pens and you say we are lower ranked than ireland. Thats a joke😂
