  1. To have actually seen him ona number of occasions was a huge privilege. A great player for his club and England and a huge servant to the game of football. He will be missed with his unassuming personality, a gentleman and class act. If only professional footballers today followed his example the press would have to find something else to write about instead of scandals and bad behavior on and off the pitch.

  4. Sir Bobby Charlton was the core of Manchester United as a player and Director. He was simply a light in my life when l needed lt , goodbye my inspiration and the drive to carry on .

  10. When I was a boy, playing football in the streets everyone wanted to be Bobby Charlton! The most elegant footballer I've ever seen, and his goals , well just incredible. A true gentleman, a man who's name transcended the sport and was hero worshipped all over the world. It s been the privilege of my life to have watched him for both United and England. Thank you Sir Bobby and no doubt you have already sort out DUNCAN!

  11. I have nothing but respect for this man!!! As a Liverpool fan..I cry with man utd fans….England's greatest!!! Won everything!!! And such a gentleman feels just like bobby Moore in 94!!! Hes the last great!!! Absoloutly gutted!!

As a Scotsman…what a player.. what a man…what came to mind for me was Archie Gemmell's goal against Holland…in the commentary…David Coleman.. with Bobby as co commentator…when we scored you can hear Bobby shouting "it's there!!…it's there!!' In the background…..that from an Englishman….RIP Bobby. Total respect.
