Raphael Varane is officially a Man United player. At 28 years old, he is one of the most decorated players in world football and has amassed over 19 trophies throughout his career, including four Champions Leagues, three Spanish titles and the 2018 World Cup. It’s hard to believe we actually managed to sign him for £36million!! But where did it all start for Rapheal Varane? How did he rise to be one of the world’s best centre backs? Here is the story of Varane…

  1. Best football channel on YouTube
    No. 1 Ste Howson
    No. 2 Stretford paddock
No. 3 Stretford paddock football club

The holy trinity of football content

  2. Love the video Stephen… I was hoping you'd be able to tell us more about Fergie going to Varane when he was younger… He mentioned that Sir Alex went to his mom's home when he was younger in his first interview… Do you think you might be able to find out what the story was?… We're still feeeling the effects of Sir Alex's work with United till today… I love that…

  3. I was excited about the Sancho transfer but this one is something else. Varane to me has always been the fifa career mode signing and now its actually a reality.

  4. Ruled out for 8 months with Osgood-Schlater? Mate, as a basketball player, literally every kid gets that at around 12-16, and has it for a while, but we all just kept playing 😂😂😂😂😂😂 maybe we shouldn’t have

  5. He’s going to be immense I’m buzzing over this transfer a genuine world class centre half pairing we could do something amazing this year, without a cdm I think the league will be just out of reach but fancy our chances in the champions league and domestic competitions. Feels great to be excited for a season and to see the lads play and it’s down to foundations ole is laying.

  6. I honestly see us winning the league on the last match day with some amazing come back performance where City play and flop the game also. Some real dramatic ending just like the old days. Even without a new CDM we have the options already and the flexibility of having a double pivot or single holding mid using Matic/Fred/McTominay, having Varane and Maguire lets us be so much more secure than ever. We've seen what our front 5 can do so being able to utilize that to the most this season will really be the key of winning through extra goals just like how we're supposed to play.

  7. I had Osgood Schlatters, ruined my chances of doing anything athletic, hurt like hell. I don't know how these lads can get by playing with it, my knees were the size of footballs at times, no joke…

  8. You have done an excellent job with this intro. I'd be very interested in these as a periodic spot over the course of the season for more players and/or coaches. Great script. The editing, graphically and cuts, is excellent. Thanks for this, bud. Really awesome.

  9. Cant get over how this guy could appear in 16 finals, including 4 in the UCL and a World Cup final, and end up on the winning side in every single one! Whatever he has going for him in the alignment of the stars, United could do with some of it given their recent record.

  10. Excellent research there Mr Howson, can't wait for Varane's debut.
I was worried on 2 fronts about him , the major one is from that disease around the meniscus which resulted in ruptured in 11/12 and has hampered him since, don't think he has been able to complete a season since, I was very wary on whether he would pass his medical for us..
    Thanks G he has…
Second was on whether he could speak English, as I've never heard him speak English anywhere, only in French and Spainish, lucky for us, his brother speaks fluid English and learned very quickly indeed, I was very impressed how well spoke in his first Utd interview…. dig @ Davíd, apart from Cavani when he joined, the only first team player that still can't/refuse to interviews for MUTV in English… still after what 10/11 year 😲 and yes he can speak English…
Very interesting on the 19 shirt no, new start, new challenges ahead, as he start his Madrid days with 19, maybe he wanted the 19 squad No. after all and not the No. 4….
    👍👍👍👍💚💛💚💛

  11. I had Osgood-Schlatter disease when I was about 14 – it kept me out of football (and all sports) for around 18 months. Back then (mid 70s), it was an effort to find a doctor who actually knew what it was, and the best treatment they had at the time was to immobilise the knee until it healed itself.
