Felix Sanchez (DOM) wins the gold medal in the men’s 400m hurdles event in the Olympic Park at the London 2012 Olympic Games (6 August 2012).

Michael Tinsley (USA) won silver in the event with Javier Culson (PUR) claiming the bronze medal.

Since 1896, athletics has been on the programme of each edition of the Games of the Olympiad. Its presence on the Games programme has allowed its popularity to increase across the world. This popularity was also strengthened by the creation of the IAAF in 1912. Women’s events appeared for the first time at the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam, while the men’s programme was standardised as of the 1932 Games in Los Angeles. Although at the beginning women were authorised to participate in only some events, today their programme is almost identical to that of the men.

  1. God. I’m totally envious of my brother right now. He’s actually been single permanently. Nonetheless he managed to get a part-time model to proclaim to him she has fallen deeply in love with him in less than a month. Just how is that actually achievable? He said to me he tried the Cupid Love System (Google it!) I wish someone lovely told me that… I do not remember ever seeing him so fulfilled. Sort of makes me feel bad.

  2. The Puerto Rican guy needs to suck it up. They all did great (top 3) and Felix Sanchez/Dominican Republic has the best 400m in the world.
