  1. The strongest version of Madrid was Mourinho version, but the version of Madrid after him made this big success duo to Modric work , this man ability to lead the game is incredible, not underestimating the rest but I mean he is the main key for this success, I believe Iniesta has a better skills but this leading soul is unmatched, not like Messi can dribble the entire team but he can break the other team lines by his plans , phenomenal, easily best midfielder in the game history, the croata team can show this more visibly

  2. Luka Modric is one of the best midfielders of all time and he’s an elegant player. The way he plays he oozes class with his passing chance creation carries the ball runs with it and is able to do the defensive work when his team needs it. Luka Modric is exactly what you want in your modern day midfielder as his profile he’s a number 10 with his creativity and passing, a number 8 for the way he controls the midfield in both aspects of his game. He was pivotal to why Real Madrid won so many champions league titles 5 in the last 10 seasons including a 3peat and they won so many La Liga titles as well and other trophies along the way and he played a big role in that. He also has a Ballon Dor to his name as well ending the 10 year dominance of Messi and Ronaldo which was an incredible achievement for him because when he first joined Real Madrid he was voted as the worst La Liga signing of all time and now look at where he is a club legend and one of the best players of our generation. He’s even still playing at a top level even at the age of 38 and that’s a testament to his longevity considering that at his age legendary midfielders like Zidane Andres Iniesta Xavi Frank Lampard Steven Gerrard etc either retired or played their football outside of Europe while Modric at 38 is still playing for Real Madrid the biggest club in the world.

It’s not just his success at club level with Real Madrid he has shown his greatness for the Croatia national team. In the 2018 World Cup he seriously took that team to a World Cup final finishing 2nd in the tournament and his performances during their run to the final earned him the Golden Ball and a bunch of more individual awards later on like I mentioned the Ballon Dor which highlighted the impact he had on the team and 4 years later at 37, Croatia got very deep in the World Cup yet again this time getting to the semifinals and finished 3rd at the World Cup. What Luka Modric has done for Croatia is unbelievable because he was a critical figure of their underdog story getting to the semifinals in back to back in World Cups he’s done incredibly well for them in major tournaments big time and what a player he is.

  3. Personally for me, I think Xavi and Andres Iniesta are still better than Luka Modric, he’s a great player but I think due to longevity and recency bias, people have been hyping him up a lot more than they should and a lot of people have forgotten that due to the fact that Xavi and Iniesta left Europe at 33 basically retirement for them while Modric at 38 is still playing in Europe. He’s played the best football of his career in his 30s and he’s achieved a lot during the late stages and that’s the age in which he hit his peak he was always a good player but has been on a different level over the past couple of seasons. He definitely belongs in the same tier as Xavi Iniesta and Zidane for me he isn’t clear of any of those 3 and if we have this conversation about Luka Modric’s ranking among the best midfielders ever a couple of years ago I would’ve disagreed at the time but he’s up there with the best after watching how things have unfolded in his career the consistency and longevity as well we have witnessed just how unbelievable of a player he was and he’ll be missed once he announces his retirement from football.

  4. You can deny that Modric is a better midfielder than the midfielders you had in your team, but you can't deny that he is one hell of a player. Personally, he is up there with Zidane and Iniesta for me.
