Raya is very good, no doubt about it. BUT, I haven't seen anything from him to justify demoting Ramsdale. Ramsdale is not that bad with his feet, we've seen him make plenty of good passes last season both long and short. AND Ramsdale is a bigger player with more reach and better able to pull off the unbelievable saves to preserve wins or draws.
The only reason people in England are against Raya is because Ramsdale is British and Raya is not… that’s it. Mystery solved.
I mean If You Listened To what Arteta said after the game on why he choose raya over ramsdale its obviously his decision making. Even though it looks jittery to us, but arteta said "if someone Other than raya on that same situation He would play it long, Its my instruction to make him play short".
The problem is the defense don’t play well out the back so they got a goalie than can help them with that.
Let’s get the stats on how many passes Raya gave away in the last 6 games. I’m going with more often than he gave the ball to a defender
I’ve been happy and calm with Raya. Besides a nervy start against City and against Lens a long pass which got intercepted and a great counter and finish. He’s been solid.

Raya is marginally better than Ramsdale but I believe the furore around his inclusion has definitely negatively affected him. Rambo is a favourite with Gooners and he's English so the media have really focussed on his being dropped. Raya needs to stop trying too hard to make the most difficult pass to prove how good his passing is! It's making him take unnecessary risks….

Arsenal fan want Ramsdale no1 because he’s English that all but Arteta have made his mind already who’s no1. Arteta want Arsenal to have more options when getting press. With Ramsdale Arsenal can’t keep the lead because when opponents put more pressure Ramsdale would just kick the ball back to opponent almost every time and this put Arsenal on defensive and it’s just a matter of time until they conceded a goal. Arsenal is much better with raya as a keeper

I admit he’s boring but Ramsdale makes way too many mistakes and bites at every shot.
Ramsdale has to go in January for his own sake which fans will not blame him to seek for a move. That is apparently a drop rather than a rotation. It is so clear that Arteta will not give him a chance in UCL and PL anymore coz everyone knows Arteta is a high ego manager and regardless how he did so good in training that was not enough for him to change his mind when his decision comes.
I remember folks were shading Arsenal for signing Ramsdale because he had been on two relegation sides, now folks are defending him like he is Oliver Kahn.
Raya has better positioning and the club want to win now. Ramsdale has given a couple of goals up because of his positioning. Notably against Sporting last season and Fulham this season. Plus his attitude winds up opposing players and crowds. Arteta isn’t keen on that. I don’t think it is over for Ramsdale at Arsenal, he is still young and has room to grow, but clearly the brass want to win now.
I love Rambo. But what Arteta wants is for the goalkeeper to invite the press to open the game up further forward. Raya was instructed to do just that. If it was another goalkeeper the ball would have probably gone in the net. Plus Raya’s positioning is better.
Come on if you are blaming Ramsdale making the mistakes in the match, I just want to say, Raya also made the mistakes at Spurs and Lens games. That's unfair to Ramsdale as they are not given the equal chance for competition.
