Kalvin Phillips was not to blame but I hope we don't see him play for City again. Just not good enough moving forward and little control in the second half when Newcastle upped there effort.
Phillips, Grealish, Gomez, Akanji, Lewis poor, Alvarez first touch was very poor.
Stats dont tell the whole story, eye test tells you way more.
Yeah we dont need to pick on anyone. We can trust that Pep knows all too well if Kalvin is up to the job in hand. Bobb was outstanding and has that superb balance that all great players have and in a year or two when he beefs up a little and gains more first team experience wow what a player we'll have and i suspect this is why Pep let Palmer leave. All in all last night, losing did us a favour looking at the bigger picture and leaves us a clear run for the treble again! 😂🏆🏆🏆💙⚽️ Up the blues 💪🔥
I've come to the acceptance that Grealish just can't beat a man, his game is just to keep the ball at this point and help defensively, he's a defensive winger, if you expect anything other than that you'll always be disappointed. It wasn't a bad game, it was a game of two halves, we had the better of the 1st half and failed to score, they had the better of the 2nd half and they scored, simple as that, nothing more to it. Osca Bobb is the only positive to take out of that game.
Phillips is not the player city hoped they signed hes just a below avg player and couldnt lace rodris boots …however grealish is another disappointment the guy cannot take a man on and his shooting is abysmal and very predictable…city cannot rely on these two players this season thats for sure
You said last nite Phillips was a defensive Midfielder so why couldn’t he defend for the goal & not chase back gave up, are you joking me about the stats forget about stats your a modern fan. pep knows hes made a mistake with him we all know just hope pep replaces him before he leaves. I've always conceded that Grealish must have been forced on Pep by the guys upstairs and not Pep's own choice. It's about time we accepted the fact that we made a £100m mistake and moved on. If we can't get rid of him immediately, let's tolerate him like a bad toothache, but for heaven's sake don't renew his contract when it's up!!

Kalvin Phillips position is not perfect, i feel the guy is lagging in the head sometimes thinks he walk in the park. Lewis was not patient, he need someone to guide him on the pitch. Bobb can be the next john stones really if pep can adjust him. Overall team got low synrgy, Pep was trying something new and allow who didnt get minutes to play more but maybe he found his answers.

Every player other than Bobb and Doku was poor but Phillips was the worst by a mile and he had a point to try and prove. Just done with him now never want to see him on the pitch again. Why are people scape goating the players expecially players who have done nothing

To be fair to grealish he didn’t play for a month and his best form comes when he’s playing regularly like the end of last season
