It was to be a day of frustration for the defending Premier League champions.

Wolves had played well in a number of games without luck this season, but today they rode their luck – as well as playing out of their skin.

Pedro Neto’s cross was turned past Ederson by Ruben Dias in the first-half as City struggled to create any clear-cut chances.

With so many key players missing, the Blues were far from their fluent best but still kept plugging away until Julian Alvarez levelled with a superb free-kick.

However, it was Wolves who grabbed the third goal of the game when Hee-chan – who many felt should have been dismissed for second bookable offence – prodded home from close range eight minutes later.
