Lots wanted a new goalkeeper,but what was needed was a centre back and midfielder could have gone another year with the goalkeeper we had and ETH did not get most of the players he wanted

This has been going on for over a decade.
I dont know why 'fans' are blaming 1 or 2 or even 3 players or even ETH.
This is a root & branch problem set in by over a decade of mismanagement, lack of standards, poor scouting, recruitment, poor contract/wage levels, financial debt…focus on commercial & not on field success, lack of infrastructure, medical, sports sciene, nutrition, basic standards for training & coaching.
There has been no strategy, no vision & its been going this way for a decade…exactly from the moment Gill & SAF left the club.
Once Woodward was given the reigns along with Judge….what we have seen is a car crash in slow motion & the owners close their eyes & bleed the club for every penny. Even Arnold & Murtough were under Woodward .. there has been a total lack of focus on creating a TEAM for success on the pitch.
Every manager or player signed, sold, or loaned has been a firefighting exercise….
Over the last 10 years there has been no strategy to form a cohesive team or environment.
We have moaned about Fellani, Schweisteiger, Depay, Di Maria, Pogba, Lukaku, Lingard, Maguire, Mctominay, Rashford, Bruno, Anthony etc etc etc…inc every manager….but not one decision at board level has had any care to form a team with successful, motivated & trophy driven components. We have had in 10 years maybe just 3 utd 'DNA' players – Ibrahimovic, De Gea, & Martinez – but we have never built a team or squad with 25 of those types of player alongside a manager like ETH.
Ten Hag is the right manager but working in an environment of failure.
The people making the decisions have done everything for themselves & have never had a plan to maintain what SAF & Sir Matt built.
We have not in 10 years had a combination of players or management that create a successful team & we have had no focus on the medical, legal, finance, sports science…in every department to the core of the club it is failing.
It is way to simplistic to say 1 or 2 players are causing us to be where we are.
Its possible we will get one or 2 wins but the club does not operate in a way to create an environment for consistency & desire to achieve.
You can sack ETH, you can remove Rashford, Maguire, McTominay, Bruno etc … its naive to say play the academy prospects – none of them are the calibre of the class of 92 & we simply cannot expect them to shoulder the responsibilty to win games over 30+ games…..
Nothing will change.
Change will only come with new ownership, financial freedom AND crucially a totally focused strategy & vision to be successful ON THE PITCH & win trophies!.
Ragnick said ALL of this & the clearest example of total mismanagement & avoidance of success is they sacked him BEFORE he could take up the position as sporting director that he was perfect for.
Even if Ragnick was our sporting director…the club would never had given him the authority to rebuild.
This problem with lack of strategy over a long period of time is now terminal!! The decline is set in to the core of the club.
Everything needs an overhaul.
New owners, financial freedom & a strategy to win is the only way we can start to recover AND even then it will not mean immediate success.
What i will say is im most disappointed that over this last decade Sir Alex nor Sir Bobby have spoken up about changing the direction of the club…i appreciate they are board members but its is absolutely clear not one person in that club can ever supercede the Glazers.
The Glazers have spread a cancer & decay right through the entire club & now holding the club hostage out of pure greed. The club is not worth 5bn now at best 4bn…they have bids for 5bn but want 8bn+!!
It is so abundantly clear the club has been destroyed due to their greed & lack of duty of care or any semblance of wanting a strategy to succeed on or off the pitch.
