I want to add one more thing. He knows where to stand. This is done only to attract opponents to create the spaces for the teammates, especially during the buildup. He knows he probably doesn’t get the ball because there are 4 opponents around him, but he knows the importance of being there. This is a very important skill. Mctominay and even Casemiro often looks lazy in not doing this, standing right behind the opponent instead of shifting quickly left or right to create an option for the teammate.

Amrabat is the only United midfielder (apart from maybe Eriksen) who can make play from deep. A dlp’s most important traits are defending and tempo keeping. Eriksen, Casemiro and Bruno are to different extent risky passers. All three try to make things happen, and usually this tendency comes with a cost. United midfield has been unable to keep possession for this particular reason. It is the ability to pick out those small-medium passes that is the most crucial. And no, Mctominay’s passing isn’t tempo keeping.

You are not giving Casemiro enough credit. You said you would like to see more progressive passes on the floor by Amrabat. Thats exactly what Casemiro was doing all game and getting most of them accurately. I think this partnership with those two can work and this unlocks Casemiro to be the riskier passer and runner into the box. You also said Eriksen was like Bruno and casemiro with risky passing and giving balls away, i diagree Eriksen is fine o the ball and in fact him and Amrabaat are the most safe now on the ball.
The contrast between his attitude and what Sancho's appears to be is like night and day. Future club legend.

We finally got a deep midfield metronome like Carrick/Scholes. Although not to the same level yet, it's the similar ability to dictate play from deep and he's much MUCH more mobile than Carrick/Scholes
I still think our best midfield will be Casemiro, Amarbat and Eriksen
Shows how bad recruitment has been that a simple but absolutely crucial type of player like this has been missing from the team for so long . I hope he plays in midfield btw , not at full back . Could transform this team imo .

i remember reading somewhere about how pep likes his players to all want to receive the ball, amarabat is the type of player who will always make himself available he is not scared, unlike our other midfielders, honestly, we need our whole team to have that mindset.
Slightly off topic (or may be not). If wishes could come true I would choose FDJ and Casemiro but that dream has failed. So,wanted to pick your brain on who could we sign next to see the kind of midfield we desire to see. The top 3 signings to replace Casemiro would be Florentino Luis, Palacios, or Locatelli in that order. Fdj replacement is almost impossible. Vitinha and Caqueret are two good options, caqueret has a bit of everything but Vitinha is a better ball carrier. if we have to pair him up with Casemiro then I would go with Vitinha. Kokcu is another option but defensively weaker. This is where I see a roadblock. Great options but no clear winner. which 2 midfield pair would you pick ? Another option I have heard is Javi Guerra. I am sure you will be doing trade offs, would love to see them in your video.
