In the match against Liverpool, the Portuguese international has taken complete control and demonstrated why he is the most crucial player for Wolves this season.
Pedro Neto has already racked up an impressive four assists, making him the leading assist provider in the league thus far. However, it’s not just his assist record that has grabbed attention.
Throughout the first half, the 23-year-old has consistently outplayed Joe Gomez, leaving him in a state of embarrassment. At the 40-minute mark, Neto executed a skillful nutmeg, adding to the humiliation inflicted upon the Liverpool defender.
Moving to Spanish La Liga match, Takefusa Kubo, the Japanese attacker, delivered an outstanding performance for Real Sociedad against his former club, Real Madrid. However, despite Kubo’s contributions, Sociedad experienced a disappointing 2-1 comeback defeat, marking their first loss of the new season.
In the fifth minute, Kubo played a crucial role in the opening goal. With a precise pass from the right, he found Ander Barrenetxea in the box. Barrenetxea’s initial shot was saved by goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, but the forward managed to put away the rebound.
Just six minutes later, the 22-year-old Kubo impressed the Santiago Bernabeu crowd with a powerful shot from outside the box, finding the far bottom corner of the net. Unfortunately, the goal was disallowed due to a slight deflection off his teammate Mikel Oyarzabal’s back, who was in an offside position.
Kubo continued to pose a threat, with another strong effort saved, and he also provided a cross that led to Mikel Merino’s close-range header, which was saved by the opposition goalkeeper. At halftime, Sociedad held the lead.
However, Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde equalized with a precise shot off the post just one minute into the second half. Then, on the hour mark, Joselu secured victory for Real Madrid with a headed goal.
Despite Kubo’s impressive display, Real Sociedad fell short in the match, facing their first defeat of the new La Liga season.
