The Sky Blues were left to settle for a share of the points at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Matty Godden had fired City in front five minutes from time in the first half, but the Sky Blues were pegged back moments later through Jerry Yates.

The first chance of the game fell to the hosts, and it was Jay Fulton who had a sight of goal from distance, driving the ball narrowly wide of Ben Wilson’s goal.

At the other end, on his first league start, Haji Wright was getting himself into good positions and finding an eye for a strike, unleashing a thunderous effort from distance, which whistled past the post.

Josh Eccles was on corners at the Swansea.com Stadium and he picked out the head of Wright from a ball in from the right, but the striker couldn’t steer his effort on target.

After a corner was given incorrectly, Swansea came close to finding the game’s opening goal when Harry Darling heading the ball into the arms of Wilson.

Five minutes before the break, City would break the deadlock and it was Matty Godden who found the back of the net, scoring his third in as many games with a cool finish inside of the area, after being teed up by Wright.

However, that lead would last just two minutes as at the other end, Jerry Yates directed the ball into the back of the net with a header at the front post.

HALF-TIME: Swansea City 1-1 Sky Blues

Following the restart, City were restricted to half chances, with both defensive duo Bobby Thomas and Kyle McFadzean heading over from corners into the box.

Swansea had the best chance just after the hour mark to take the lead, but Fulton’s effort from inside of the area was straight at Wilson.

City were looking the stronger of the two sides heading into the final exchanges and a scramble in the area left the ball on the edge of the area for Liam Kelly, but his shot deflected behind for a corner.

The Sky Blue hit the woodwork from the unlikeliest of circumstances as Josh Eccles saw his corner come back off the post and go behind for a goal-kick.

With seven minutes added on, City went in search of a winner, but the closest they would come would be a Godden header over the bar, before Bobby Madley would blow for full-time.

  1. Class vid again alex , sanjay is an unsung genius but he needs to get back on the pie reviews his opinion is unparalleled and his word his gospel ! Again coventry imo have played really well but they just dont seem to be getting the rub of the green at the moment but its early days and the team are looking good , amazingly afc wimbledon my team have gone 3rd in league 2 tonight now that is a miracle ! All i need is a pie review from sanjay and the weekend is complete , take care mate

  2. Another away game where the referee has ruined the game for us. Let’s be real we have to be winning these games getting points on the board. Sometimes a point is not good enough and from the reaction within the squad I am not at all shocked at how disappointed they are. Good to see Godden get another goal, the man should be considered a club legend not just thrown away for our new expensive shiny toys who have not proven themselves in a sky blue shirt. Other than that let’s hope we can get another home win against Sunderland hopefully PUSB

  3. Thank you! You’re the first Coventry fan – or staff member – who I’ve heard actually respecting Swansea’s performance. I have a feeling both teams will start to trend upwards from now. Good luck for the rest of the season!

  4. Still early days and still very much a work in progress with more players coming in. Godden still has the magic, cannot believe some fans were calling for him to be let go!!

  5. Said last year that you were the best fans we'd had down here since the ground opened. That was confirmed again yesterday. Absolutely superb support. Its a fixture I look forward to simply because the atmosphere is great. Unfortunately our fans were pretty shit yesterday. Probably due to the fact we played shit. I'd say a draw is probably a fair result although you probably just edged it. Good video mate 👍

  6. Fair report, Coventry fans were great, one of the best supported clubs to come down to Swansea. 1-1 was probably a fair result. I expect the north clubs to be in the mix at the end of the season.

  7. Ref was shocking, 1 beer stand for 2k support but other then that it was a brilliant back and forth with the swansea fans. Wish we would have won though
