Southgate said he didn't pick Abraham because "Tammy has had a poor run of scoring form at the wrong time." Meanwhile Maguire has had a poor run of defending form at the wrong time… is in; or Phillips has had only 68 minutes on the pitch this season… is also in. That excuse is poor from Southgate, if that was true he should not have picked Maguire & Phillips. I guess at least he's loyal to his favorites.

Uhmmm Maguire is way out of form since August, sent on holiday to Portugal by MUFC, essentially played a few sub mins, and a recent game, then put in a centre forward position by ten hag to gap fill…….so taken all that into account…Wokegate by example picked out of form Maguire based on previous England form preference viz old boys club regular, as opposed to current club form, played minutes and performance capability which in most people’s criteria = not in form, No played minutes therefore shouldn’t be picked. Moreover last England game against Germany Maguire caused the penalty against England and scoring of the second goal due to bad defending. And furthermore I couldn’t believe hearing peter schemichael last night on sky pundit speaking about Wokegate selection of Maguire, saying well we no he had issues, no game time, but being selected for England gives Maguire the opportunity to “get his form back” in the World Cup games…..WTF, peter you melt, the idea is international country players are selected on the current club ability and form, not using the World Cup as reserves games to get your form back….you dumb Dane!!!

He picked James Maddison for the same reason he picked Toney for the last two game, public pressure. However Maddison will play the same amount of time as Toney did.
