Pretty cheap blaming CP11 straight up. I knew someone would blame this disaster class on him š¤£
But I watched every minute he played for Chelsea so I'm totally * used to it. The difference is that at Chelsea when *they put on a disaster class Puli would get benched for like 7 weeks whether or not it was his fault.
Pioli panicked when he yanked Pulisic. And it was his tactics that marooned CP11 way out on the touchline the entire time he was on. In the 1st 3 matches Pulisic had the freedom to go inside and even switch with Leao. None of that happened in this match. Theo didn't make a single switch pass out to him. Well… no one did. Puli made runs out on the right, but clearly one of Inter's priorities was to keep the ball away from our right side, and Pioli never adjusted. Ohbytheway, Leao was also limited by the same tactic.
In fact, it was pretty clear that Inter decided to let Leao try to beat them, while preventing everything else. And it was the correct tactic, because Leao got his goal… and it wasn't nearly enough.
All of Milan's goals in the 1st 3 matches came from brilliant 1-2 play. Inter stopped that dead, and Pioli had nothing else.
So blaming Christian is cheap, and easy, and wrong. FFS…
We've got the Champions league in 2 days. Settle down šš
Pioli is to be blamed hands down. Inter essentially played with 5 in midfield vs Milan's 3. At no point in time any of our 3 midfielders were allowed time to settle and dictate play and it was a simple game of numbers. At times they even allowed us possession but the build up play was extremely slow….no way we should've even been playing with a high backline with the likes of Lautaro, Dumfries and Thuram there to counter. Cudos to Inzaghi tho, he has finally gotten the squad to play his famed 3-5-2 formation like in his time at Lazio. This side look well balanced and absolutely dominant.
It's more painful to think that we were linked with Fratessi and Thuram. Pioli should be dismissed.
I was shocked Pulisic started. He played two international games on another continent. I also blame the inconsideration of his football confederation and national team coach. Flying 12 hours to Saint Louis Missouri was already bad enough, but then he had another game in Minneapolis, which was another 1 hour and 30 minute flight or 8 hour and 30 minute bus ride before having to fly 12 hours back to Milan for the game. His last international game was just 4 days from the Inter game. If you do the math (and if he immediately flew back to Milan after the game) itās no wonder he looked out of it.
Regardless, I feel Pioliās tactics was the main one at fault, not the players. Well, our defense was trash. Interās defense and midfield was sitting back waiting for the counterattack, making it extremely difficult for any AC Milan player to go forward near goal using the same old tactic. Clearly, Inter did not underestimate our players but Pioli underestimated theirs. To continue using the same tactic second half was extremely stupid and is the root of the horrible defeat. I feel our team will bounce back from this, however, Pioliās stubbornness worries me.
Thiaw played awful, but we have seen him played fairly well, and Kjaer wasn't a disaster, and we had 2 CB out, so the problem is not back line personnel, it was clearly not a real elite DM instead of krunic and a system where the team can defend as a block, so this game was lost by Pioli without a single idea in how to defeat Inzaghi and not wanting krunic to be sold and then by management that didn't went and buy Nico Dominguez
Pioli is a copy and paste coach,ZERO tactics,ZERO intellect,ZERO awareness,ZERO EVERYTHING!!!
Inter is just wayyyyy better than Milan. You can blame Pulisic but look what happened to Chelsea š
Not sure adding valuable defenders would fix the problem. Defense is about a system, so itās up to the coach to build that defensive wall.
Why canāt Pioli understand that Milan are not strong enough to keep attacking Inter?? We should defend when we play against them. Obviously the gap between the 2 teams is huge.
Even the attack is not fulfilled. Milan has only 1 number 9 and heās 36 year old. Okafor is not number 9.
I believe Pioli will be fired if we loose Tuesday
Most of it comes down to the coaching with a little coming to the defense since no matter how strong the defense might become Stefano pioli can just screw everything up
During the press conference, Pioli had me convinced that Milan are well-prepared for this clash. Instead, it was like watching another replay of āHome Aloneā during Christmas: Yet another lackadaisical start to the game by Milan, followed by an early goal concession, and a series of lapses in possession and defensive transitions. I mean, Inter scored 4 times on 6 counters.l! So much more to say but Iām too embittered to go on a full tirade. It was very clear that while the quality is there, this renewed Milan squad has ways to go before they become a cohesive group again. Be that as it may, this is just one game and a long way to go – so thereās no time to dwell; a very tough opponent in Newcastle is coming next the day after tomorrow. Forza Milan ā¤ļøš¤
To be fair about pulisic, how much does the narrative about him change if Theo squares that hall and he bags a goal???
I think its 90% tactics. The performance from the whole team is clear, they werent prepared. Inter looked confident and they were able to anticipate which is a sign of prepardness. Pulisic came off cuz he was tired. Pulisic had no options they isolated giroud and prevented that hook up play. Additioanlly, when pulisic made good runs inter didnt give the man on the ball time to find pulisic. Theybalso knew exactly when to double up on any given playwr cu they KNEW whwre milan coulsnt hurt them in thoae moments. Therefore, they were able to double team multiple players at any given point. We kept trying to create too deep in inters half which played right into their hands. We needed to let inter attack and try and win the ball in midfield and beat them just before the final third. The midfield was completly overrun by inters tactics. Pioli has a break not bend mind set which is the opposite of greats like ancelotti. Ancelotti would alwys sya he doesnt like to watch his Milqn suffer but he knows its important to sometimes absorb pressure or change the way you play to get through difficult periods.
Pulisic is not our star signing keep that American hype quiet. We know he is a good player but not world class. Inzaghi is a top manager. And inter so far is the best team in the world. The football, the build up, the counter attacks the pressing, 2nd ball unbelievable. To make a Milan supporter speak like this about inter just proves how good they are. We need a top centre back and a top manager if you want to take this team to the next level. Thiaw ha his worst game today, I donāt wanna take the blame from him but Pioli tactics makes everyone look bad vs inter. To lose 5 fu**ing times in a row, against a team that plays the exact same football for the past 3 years just explains how shit of a manager you are
The defense could definitely use some strengthening donāt get me wrong, but the main issue in my opinion is the midfield.
Kessie was never replaced, and last season people talked about how Tomori and Kalulu werenāt playing as good as the Scudetto winning season. Now we STILL have no Kessie replacement, Tonali was sold, and Bennacer is missing until December.
A gave you hard time about Pulisic at the beginning of the season but I agree that these last two performances arenāt inspiring from him. When heās got space and time and still passes the ball backwards and doesnāt take on his man itās extremely frustrating. Iām an American and huge Pulisic fan but when heās playing that passive itās not good
I think it's time Pioli get fired. He lack tactical approach & 0 insight when it comes to big occasion. As it is UCL and scudetto isn't sure.
Lets be honest. Pulisic is a decent player with exceptional qualities. He ISNT WORLD CLASS. He is a support player not a the MAIN player.
Stefano Pioli is not the fault is the ownership they shouldāve kept the same squad from last year and just buy one top striker and one top defender and right winger and thatās all š¤¦š¾āāļø
āThe thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as I best could, but when he ventured upon insult I vowed revengeā
This quote from Poe has been on my mind for every derby since Milan won the Scudetto. And not because of them winning the title. It was won fair and square. But the way some Milan players behaved at the celebrations and the āstick the coppa in your assā sign were deeply disrespectful to their fellow professionals. When you throw insults like that, you gotta be ready to back them up. Someone said at the time that Inter players should keep that picture of the Milan players holding that sign in their locker room for motivation. I donāt know if they did that or not. What I do know is that since then, this inter team has been determined from minute 1 not to just defeat Milan, but if possible humiliate them as well. Beat some humility into them. From the super coppa thrashing, to the UCL semifinals nullification, to yesterdayās dance. Looks to me like, on the pitch, where it matters, this inter team has shown the rossoneri where they can stick that sign. Enjoy the wine cellar Fortunato.
the only red flag goes to pioli: when
1- you have left over defenders.
2- you are playing against the best counter attack building team in Europe.
3- most of your players are quick and most of them functions well when they have spaces…..
what do you do?… do you hold to the ball, attack and receive counter attack like pioli did???….
no.. you let go of the ball, you defend and play on the counter attack….
a beginner coach could have undetood the game better.
this is what Inzaghi did…and he outsmarted Pioli
Pioli tried to play against Inter the same way he played the first 3 matches…
kjear is to slow.but most of the players were bad.forzzza milan…..but i think we wille beat new castle
I feel like maybe .. maybe š¤ pioli and the players are not on the same page ⦠I saw pioli sitting down in the first half waiving his hands around !! Maybe there is something he canāt fix or maybe some of the players didnāt listen and they were out there trying to take revenge !! Because only someone very very stupid will try the same tactics for the 5th time ! It was just like watching the supper cup in Riyadh and I was there in the fucking Stadium!! Maybe There is something going on here . A very clear thing I see is that we have no captains .. no leaders ⦠period .. donāt say itās mike or itās calabria . We have no leader to check these players and guid them ! š
Pioli needs to improve tactically or get out! Our defense needs to improve and play better or play with intensity
Pioli looks like one of our problems, sad weekend and I canāt believe we didnāt put much of a fight against inter booty cheeks
I think Serie a would be better with 16-18 teams
People want to complain about Pulisic not being the savior, but Milan SHOULD have had TWO EASY goals, IF only Leao and Hernandez had each squared the ball to Pulisic for easy tap-ins. Pulisic was ALONE in front of goal both times in the initial 25 minutes on both of those occasions….both Leao and Hernandez elected to shoot rather than pass. Pure selfishness. Now that might have changed the game.
21 games against Inzaghi and only 5 wins. Grande mister
An entire video about an obvious bad game for one player
Y'all. Breathe. It's just a game.
