We've had a very lucky run of play last few tournaments. If you look at the teams we've played, the only strong side we've beaten is Germany, and they were a shadow of their former selves too. How far we've gotten in these tournaments should not be used as an argument to defend Southgate.
Harvey barnes, Jarred Bowen, James Ward-Prowse, Morgan Gibbs-White have all played better than Maguire, Phillips, grealish and stuff. Playing Maddison left wing is a tragedy and playing Bellingham so deep. Why do we play so defensive. We should be playing attacking against teams like that.
Don't forget that he only got to those finals and semis because of VERY favourable draws and even that Germany side was lackluster at best and they still almost beat us. He needs to get out now or it'll be more of the same, beat the shit teams and as soon as we face anyone of any quality we'll lose.
I’m Scottish, and at first I thought you might be a bit harsh. But then I thought about it. Yes you are winning most games, but you should be given who you are playing. You have a squad of mostly world class players but produce average performances. We on the other hand have a squad of mostly average players but play well as a unit.
