More seriously, are we now in a situation where any player who is the subject of an allegation is suspended/given leave of absence? Think where this could take any football club. A week or so before a crucial game allegations are made about an important player – what happens then? This sort of thing does happen. Celebrities have been falsely accused, teachers live in fear of an angry pupil making allegations against them. They should be investigated quickly and thoroughly but should the individual be punished before that investigation is complete/
This is as much a pantomime as United in the 1970s for those of us who remember the relegation year.
