This was a big deal, especially because David Beckham, one of the owners of the team, got his first trophy.
Messi, who joined the team this summer, scored the first goal in the game, which ended 1-1 even after extra time. Although people expected Messi, who is also the team’s captain, to lift the trophy first, he surprised everyone. He gave the captain’s armband to Yedlin, who used to be the captain before Messi.
