      Misplaced loyalty just so Maguire's feelings aren't hurt. A football manager overall needs to do what's right for the team. He has no winning streak and no killer instinct. What a wonderful waste of some incredible players.

      Southgate on Foden "He doesn't play centrally for his club, so presumably there's a reason for that". Maguire doesnt play for his club mate so theres probably a reason for that.

      It's absolutely ridiculous the crap Maguire gets. He's the scapegoat for a crap Man U team & he's hardly getting a game. The way people follow the herd like the sheep they are just proves they can't think for themselves. The crap he's getting would destroy 99% of the people giving him it. He's not only facing it, he's not hiding from it. Hes been part of a very good England squad & was part of a team who destroyed Scotland last night in Scotland. Where many of these sheep had Scotland down to beat us. I don't think I've ever seen England dominate Scotland in Scotland like they did last night. Despite Scotland being on their best run for years. People need to think about it. Last night wasn't a game to put a young centre back on at half time. Even if we were 2-0 up. One goal for the Scots & it was pressure on. But they dealt with it no problem. A much bigger mistake, a much worse mistake at a crucial time was made by the Scottish captain. Yet he's getting away with it. Why is that? If your an England fan support the team no matter who is playing. You don't have to agree with the team selection to still support the the team. Brilliant performance last night, brilliant result also. Don't underestimate how good we were last night.

      Feeling sorry for players is not the business of the England manager, his job is to select the best available players and win games. That is Southgate's remit. He continues to shirk his responsiblilities in favour of his pet players which could have cost us tonight, gifting them a goal from a player who shouldn't be anywhere near England Squad gave them a lift and for 10 minutes they were putting us under the cosh, in a tournament this is what could cost us a trophy. Enough of Southgate's nonsense, he has to go before costing us a third tournament trophy.

      Itā€™s a joke that Southgate is still England manager after proving to be inept at management. He keeps on playing players such as Maguire and Henderson who are both not even good enough to play non league football. England will never win anything with Southgate because he has no understanding of team selection or formation selection and he doesnā€™t pick players on merit, rather he picks his favorites. The English football team should be selected based on the (latest) players performances at their clubs and not based how a player performed for England years and years ago. Liverpool didnā€™t offer Henderson a new contract because he is no longer good enough to play elite football and Maguire has been dropped by his club manager a long time ago because his club manager is seeing week in week out how inadequate Maguire is at defense. And with all the previous mentioned points, Southgate still overlooks these facts and keeps on playing the likes of Maguire and Henderson who are both a hindrance to the overall performance of the England team. Southgate must be sacked with immediate effect before the Euros or else England will never win anything with him yet again.

      I'm sorry but Southgate is dumb: Goal vs Ukraine Maguire is marking his own defender attacker is free to score. Goal vs Scotland he sticks a lazy leg out when NO ONE was near him we concede. This is factually 2 mistakes game after game where hes made England concede. If thats vs France, Spain Portugal Maguire will cost us the whole competition but your blessed with 4 better CB's (Gueye/Tamori/Dunk/Ben White) and still choose Maguire

      Southgate is a joke. I can manage England to the euros with our squad. Southgate hasnā€™t seen Maguire play for ages cos he doesnā€™t play for Man united. Maguire for some reason played against Ukraine and was below par. But it was Southgate who brought Maguire on at half time last night in a friendly. Why? What about Colwill a left footed cb who is playing regular for Chelsea and a super young talent. So what does Maguire do, he scores for Scotland and causes instability in the defence.

      I couldn't believe Southgate's praise of Maguire. For minutes on end the guy just stood there, aimlessly passing the ball across the pitch or back to his own goalkeeper. Even Dion Dublin on the TV commentary said that keeping possession of the ball was all very well if there was a positive result at the end of it, yet there wasn't one. In fact, in Maguire's case, the only 'positive result' of his appearance in the entire match was a goal for Scotland!

      Why did he keep playing down Jude? All he'd do was talk about the full team when the journalist wanted individual discussion on him. Then when it came to Maguire he'd big him up and refuse to acknowledge anything that was said. The last point of needing to see it back and saying limited game time is irrelevant was one big cop out.

      Can't believe how Southgate keeps on picking Maguire and making excuses, he needs first team football first and foremost, even then he shouldn't be anywhere near the squad.

      Nobody is against Maguire, he is purely and simply currently no longer good enough for England and its unfair on younger better upcoming players that are never given a chance. Quite honestly I do not understand what planet Southgate lives on, I do not love watching England like I use to because of poor selection and poor performances. Some of the best players in the world and Southgate as had years to mold them into a team, it makes no sense to me why he is still in the job, really sad what is happening.
      It was a friendly if Southgate wanted to play Maguire he should have made it like a testimonial for him to thank him for his service before retiring him from the England squad.
