God sent goal. Defies physics in my opinion. That’s Atiba Hutchinson for you.. playing at the age of 38! #CANMNT

  1. I can see the young Canadian kids trying this move in training: hit the ball off the post as you faceplant then catch the rebound with the back of your leg, then flick it over the unsuspecting keeper with the back of your head ensuring that you put a favourable spin on the ball.

  2. Isn't it the Salvador D player #4 who kick it back in after the ball hit the post and bounce back on his leg then deflecting on Hutchinson's back and over the goaler ?

  3. If the stupid El Salvador goalie wasn't looking to his right after the ball hit the post, he would have seen it bouncing up in the air and been able to corral it!

  4. Atiba, using his vast experience, immediately sized up the position as the cross came in and realized he had little chance of beating the goalie directly. His advanced understanding of trigonometry calculated the velocity and angles required for a simple triangular series of post, opponents leg, and his back which would give him a better chance to score. Just prior to contact with his back, it was relatively easy matter of adjusting the angle required to give the ball proper spin. What appears as luck is simply genius at work, created by knowing the game that well.
