Lloris will be fine and I would definitely play him ahead of Forster and Eric Dier when in form does a good job
I disagree with you about Sessegnon being decent in patches last season. He peaked in the championship, and that's his level, unfortunately for the next 5 years at least.
Tottenham hasn't won a league cup in 16 years and they haven't even been to an FA Cup final in over 30 years.. Maybe someone should remind Ange of these facts at a press conference so he can snap out of his delusion of grandeur. Spurs are in no position to be choosy about what trophies they want to pursue. Yes its nice and noble to chase big honours, but if you really want to instill a winning culture you'll have to do more than just blow hot air. He'll have to win trophies at some point, he talks about quick fixes but he's deflecting and looking at it wrong its not about quick fixes, it's about achieving realistic targets such as winning the league cup that can cement his philosophy in the club and begins to establish a culture of winning/on field success.
It’s so good to have a manager that’s looking at the long term and actually wants to be our manager. Thanks as always Ali ❤
This Q/A was fantastic😂 but also loved it as always! Excited to hear more about the academy in these videos moving forward
Good as always . TY.
My take , Lloris has something to offer, whatever form that takes. Plus its a nod to his years of service .
Dier ,without being disrespectful, there to make up the English numbers. Nuff said.
Hi Alasdair, another great video update. Stay safe and well. COYS.
Can you ask if spurs employ their own sports psychologist? Kind of like Ted lasso but with the added problem of the multiple language requirements
It's going to be interesting to see the u21 against colchester
I actually like the idea that Hugo could get a goodbye game somewhere along the line. People forget the times over the years he’s really been there for us and saved the day so I hope that happens!
Thank you and congrats for the news given about our youth teams, I find that very interesting and I hope you'll do that more often. It's great to hear everything is going well nowadays with our youth teams. Actually everything is going well everywhere within the club since the arrival of Big Ange ! (Except for the league cup unfortunately! 😞).
What a change with last season!
We all have a big smile on our face nowadays while last season Spurs were making me depressed! An example? I went to the home game vs Milan and I was angry and depressed after I had spent so much money, coming from Southern Belgium to see a DREADFUL game where we didn't even try anything…
So yes I'm so happy now thanks to Ange, I simply love the guy.
Thanks again for your vids Alasdair and well done for your presence in LWOS. I watched both of course !
When we signed Klinnsmann I saw it on the six o'clock news!
Hi Alasdair, can you touch type punctuation marks and the numbers without looking? I struggle with punctuation, both whilst touch typing and in general – should've paid more attention at school, when I was young 😉 Thanks a million for your excellent reportage, never miss one.
Thanks for another informative video Alasdair. Particularly interesting to hear your comments and insights about the academy squad. The future looks bright as long as they continue to get the right leadership and encouragement. Hope you will continue to give us updates on the younger players. As for the first team squad, one would hope that Lloris and Dier would continue to be the consummate professionals that they have always been while at Spurs and contribute positively even if it is not in the first team but as part of the larger squad and during training. As for your prediction that Brennan Johnson will score on his debut – well I recall that Arnaut Danjuma scored on his debut in a 3-0 win at Preston North End, but had very little impact after that (not entirely his fault I admit). Anyway, I am sure Johnson will thrive at Spurs under Ange (the Anti-Conte)😁.
Another great video, thanks Ali. You mentioned you read or are reading Ange’s book so I thought I’d share a short interview he did on Australian TV while at Celtic. Enjoy

"Since I was young" 😂
Love it as always, Ali. Take care, and I look forward to you gloating about Brennan's debut goal
Thank you for the comprehensive picture of the Academy etc., Alasdair – also appreciate your balanced posts.
Of all the podcasts on matters relating to THFC, I feel that yourself and Chris Cowlin are the most informative and reliable …. and this is largely because you both research your info thoroughly and make every effort to be fair to all parties. Keep up the good work!
New manager bounce. Your owner is a tight ass. Ange will need the summer transfer window when his scouting team knows exactly what his system needs. Hopefully your manager has explosive diarrhea during that time.
I've never been a fan of Richarlison – he's certainly not good enough to play up front for Spurs. He can't finish and he loses possession far too easily. However, I blame the club for not doing their due diligence on him and the likes of Tenbelly. Scouting reports for youth players stretch to pages and pages of detailed observations to assess whether to keep a player on the books. Why is that not happening when the club are buying players for tens of millions of pounds? Also, AP told the players that the responsibility is on them and that they can't offer any excuses, yet the very next day Richarlison is blaming his woeful form (across over 30 matches) seemingly on his hangers on.
I think Fraser Forster is so much better with his feet which is what matters. Lloris is not 2nd best to Vicario, Forster is. Lloris undermines playing out from the back, he has no talent in that area.
Can Eric Dier reinvent himself? He seems to be a victim of his own ambitions to succeed under a head coach. Switched from from a Defensive midfielder to a Central defender and been successful at times in both. Age is (speed) against him. But has the ability to impress a new manager.
If I am honest I see Eric Dier getting a game before Lloris. Simply because of lack of options. I dread the thought because he has a terrible record of running back to defend. Ange will hopefully school him?
Are Spurs fans still doubting Vicario? Personally I think we have found a gem (finally). With the continuation of Lloris at the club does that put doubt in Vicario. And by extension what effect does that have on Fraser Forster who claims second goalie atm?
If Lloris and Dier are willing to play these new, less leadership-driven roles, they are excellent 2nd and 3rd options. Financially it makes sense to get them to January which commands greater fees already. And we do end up injury-prone in crucial moments, it makes sense to register them and have a symbiotic relationship instead of pulling a Chelsea and let huge salaries sit and waste away
