Should never have stood
Very soon referees might all lose their jobs to robots, I believe it's in everyone's best interests to automate refereeing.
As a city fan, while I would concede that akanji was interfering with play, I would also like to consider the fact that that rashford offside was given last season. For me, either both stand or both are disallowed.
When will we see referees/linesman getting interviewed asking about their decisions? Instead of same old recycle of retired ref telling us it's offside when we already know….

Man City always get decisions like this go their way. It happens every season and I swear they are paying someone under the table. I remember a game they played against Everton where it clearly hit a City's defender arm and they didn't give it because they would have lost if given. They also get a lot of close penalties go their way.
