    Eddie Nketiah handed first England call-up | Harry Maguire and Jordan Henderson also named

    Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has been handed his first senior England call-up after being picked in the squad for September’s matches against Ukraine and Scotland.

    Nketiah has scored twice in his three Premier League appearances this season and is England’s record U21 scorer with 16 goals.

    Chelsea defender Levi Colwill receives his first formal senior call-up after being promoted to the squad in June, however he was not included in any matchday squads and returned to the U21s.

    England’s September squad

    Goalkeepers: Sam Johnstone (Crystal Palace), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal).

    Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Lewis Dunk (Brighton), Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace), Harry Maguire (Manchester United), Levi Colwill (Chelsea), Fikayo Tomori (AC Milan), Kieran Trippier (Newcastle), Kyle Walker (Manchester City), Ben Chilwell (Chelsea).

    Midfielders: Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Eberechi Eze (Crystal Palace), Conor Gallagher (Chelsea), Jordan Henderson (Al Ettifaq), James Maddison (Tottenham), Kalvin Phillips (Manchester City), Declan Rice (Arsenal).

    Forwards: Phil Foden (Manchester City), Jack Grealish (Manchester City), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), Callum Wilson (Newcastle), Eddie Nketiah (Arsenal).

      I think England should clone 2 more Harry McGuires, so they can have one in defense, 1 in midfield and one at forward. With 3 Harry in the team and super coach Southgate, they will be guaranteed to win Euro 2024.

      If Maguire, Phillips and Henderson can get called up why not call up some retired players like Rooney, Beckham etc. Maybe seaman in goal. There's no difference.

      The 'media questioning' is now beyond a joke! How about asking how the team spirit is after the WC? Have he and the staff had fun working on building the squad and our style of play for this camp? Are you excited about the England v Scotland anniversary match? What can we expect to see in terms of style or setups? Oh no…..we get everything but actual FOOTBALL questions. Media…psssst how about getting behind your national team and asking asking good insightful footballing questions. Slap your foreheads appropriately!

      Henderson played regular football. Unless his form drops in Saudi he deserves to take part. Even Maguire played 8 games in a year and got selected.

      For the number of quality players England produces, the problem as to why it doesn’t win many cups must lie somewhere else

      That's why England football team don't win anything,Southgate is blind ,Harry maguire is in the team,the most over rated defender in world football,my six year old grand son can run passed him with the ball,he got no skill,he's worth not over 5 pounds,what a joke.
