Manchester United confirmed another casualty this Tuesday.

The club announced that defender Raphael Varane will be out of the classic with Arsenal due to a muscle discomfort felt in last Saturday’s match.

At the time, Varane was substituted at half-time against Nottingham Forest, when United lost 2-0.
Lindelof came on in his place and helped the team turn the game to 3-2.

In the press conference after the game, coach Erik ten Hag had confirmed that Varane’s exchange was due to the physical part of the 30-year-old player.

The number 19 can miss the team in the next commitments for the English Championship and at the beginning of the Champions League.

Varane’s injury comes at a time when the Dutch coach is struggling to assemble the defensive sector.

The United commander had to improvise wing-back Diogo Dalot on the left in the weekend’s game, as Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia, who play in the position, are injured.

The Manchester team’s duel with Arsenal is scheduled for this Sunday, September 3, at the Emirates Stadium, in London.
