Welcome to celtic🍀🍀🍀
Looks class welcome to Celtic
Welcome to celtic family HAIL HAIL COYBIG 🇮🇪 🇮🇪 🇮🇪 🇮🇪 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
Started his career in the Green and White Hoops of Catholic United ….. ☝️💚
Delighted to have this lad, thought someone else was gonna nab him for sure
Bournemouth fan here. You have signed an absolute beast. He didn’t put a foot wrong for us last season. He was constantly faultless and nearly always MOM. Brilliant in the air, loads of power and good pace, nobody gets past him, great tackler. He could easily play in the Tottenham first team and for most premier league clubs. Gutted Bournemouth didn’t sign him. Great bit of business from Celtic.
Sooo soo glad Cameron joined
Welcome to Celtic 🍀
Never heard of him. A big comedown.
So gassed for him, bournemouth fans speak very highly of him so I'm glad he'll be able to play more consistently and develop.
Hopefully he can flatten Morelos. Without getting sent off.
CELTIC’S SUMMER TRANSFER BUSINESS – RATED 🍀🔥🏴
🏴 | Liam Shaw – Pre-contract
At 20 years of age, Liam Shaw looks like a very exciting prospect. He was a massive fans’ favourite amongst Wednesday fans in the Championship. Physically imposing, good on the ball, versatile and signed for next to nothing on a pre-contract. Seems to be a coup.
7/10
🇳🇱 | Osaze Urhoghide – £200k
Another 20 year old from Sheffield Wednesday, Urhoghide too looks very promising. Similar to Shaw, he’s physically a bit of a unit, he loves a tackle and can also play multiple positions. Again, signed for next to nothing so isn’t a risk at all. Another logical signing.
6/10
🇸🇪 | Carl Starfelt – £4.2M
Was he my first choice? Absolutely not. Did I think he’d be this bad? Absolutely not.
It’s fair to say the Swede has unfortunately looked like a bit of a ‘bomb-scare’ in his opening few games for Celtic. Not what you want from a £4.2M signing. However it is early days yet and he has had a few good moments.
I am trying to convince myself he will become solid and that he wasn’t a massive waste of money.
4/10
🇮🇱 | Liel Abada – £3.5M
Looks like a VERY good signing. Electric pace, brilliant dribbling, very direct and a good end product. This guy was the biggest prospect in Israel and it is a joy to watch him play his football in a Celtic shirt.
9/10
🇯🇵 | Kyogo Furuhashi – £4.5M
A special talent. Was buzzing the instant we were linked with him and I absolutely have not been disappointed.
Kyogo has so many attributes going for him. Not only is his goal scoring record phenomenal, but he is a massive team player, his work rate is super human, his movement is almost unlike anything I’ve seen in a Celtic shirt and most refreshing, he seems to absolutely love being a Celtic player.
My only gripe about this signing? We didn’t sign up on a five-year deal. Well done Celtic!
10/10
🏴 | Joe Hart – £1M
Does he have a mistake in him? Yes. Would I have preferred Forster? Yes. Am I happy with Joe Hart? YES.
Joe Hart has made a few nice saves in his limited time in Glasgow (more than can be said for Bain or Barkas in all their time here). Hart offers more than just saves though, he brings a wealth of experience from playing at the top level for years, he’s a leader and commands his defence and like the others so far, the fact he took a massive wage cut to come shows he’s not here for money and is here because he genuinely wants to play football at Celtic! Solid signing.
7/10
🇮🇪 | James McCarthy – FREE
To be honest, this is the ONLY signing on this list I’m angry at. Sorry, that’s not true. I’m livid.
We’ve just spent HUGE wages on a 30 year-old with major past injury problems, whose best days will soon be (if not already) beyond him.
The fact he did not travel to the Netherlands for our second leg tie against AZ, is my point in a nutshell! He’s only been here a few weeks and already he’s having to miss games!
Instead of signing Patrick Berg (my dream signing) at 23 years of age for about £1.5M, a HUGELY exciting Norwegian talent, we signed an injury-prone 30 year old on FAR higher wages! The worst part? We signed him on a FOUR-YEAR DEAL! How dumb can we get?
The funny thing is that I said this is the only signing I’m angry at, and this is also the only signing you can tell definitely IS NOT Ange’s signing. The same Celtic board that wasted £15M+ last season are still meddling where they shouldn’t be.
Absolutely furious with this deal.
2/10
🇮🇪 Liam Scales – £500k
Said to be the brightest talent in Ireland, Scales sounds like he has potential. He’s 6’3, left-footed, can play both CB and LB and is only 23 years old, it just remains to be seen how well he makes the jump in quality from Irish football to Scottish/European football. At £500k though, this is very much a risk-free signing. Let’s be honest, he’s got to be better than Greg Taylor!
6/10
🇭🇷 Josip Juranović – £2.5M
ANOTHER very impressive signing! The Croatian international comes with a massive reputation from Legia Warszawa, with those who watched him regularly in Poland questioning why he wasn’t already playing at a higher level?
His crossing is phenomenal, he’s quick and he’s said to be adept in both attacking and defensively. The fact he has beaten Atletico’s Šime Vrsaljko to the starting right-back spot tells you everything.
I saw a football journalist (Polish or Croatian, I can’t remember) sum him up perfectly, when he said that Celtic are getting an absolute steal at £2.5M because if he was playing for Dinamo Zagreb, he would cost at least TRIPLE that price.
10/10
🇬🇷 | Georgios Giakoumakis – £2.1M + add-ons (£2.5M total)
At first I was very sceptical of this one. If you look at last season, then you would think he’s almost too good to be signing for Celtic. Scoring 26 goals in 30 games to become the top scorer in the Eredivise is HUGELY impressive, but to do it whilst playing for the team that finished second bottom and got relegated is special.
However on the other hand it looks a bit concerning given that he’s 27 in a few months and prior to last season he has never scored more than a handful of goals in ANY of his previous seasons. Very worrying.
I’m choosing to look at it from the perspective however that you simply don’t score that many goals playing for a relegated team in a good league like the Eredivise if you are a dud. There’s obviously something about him. Not only that but he seems to have a few good attributes to work with; he’s 6’1, good in the air, has a very nice finish and he scores all sorts of goals.
At an initial £2.1M, it isn’t exactly breaking the bank either. Potential to be a massive diamond in the rough here and an incredible bit of business.

🇵🇹 | João Filipe (Jota) – Loan with opinion to buy for €7.5M
An exciting prospect who has come through the Benfica youth academy. Jota is a dynamic winger known for his explosive speed, excellent dribbling abilities and also for having a touch of flair with some eye-catching skill moves.
Last season he was out on loan at Vallodolid in LaLiga, where he got 1 goal in 17 appearances. Not the most exciting reading, but you get the impression there is more to his game than stats.
Supposedly in 2019, Real Madrid had an €18M offer REJECTED as Benfica saw him as one of the most exciting talents in Portugal. That IS exciting!
This transfer makes a lot of sense as he seems to lack a bit of end product to his game, but then with some reports coming out of Portugal only a couple of season ago about how highly they rated him, there is clearly a player there. The loan with the option to buy then makes sense as if he does turn out to be not that great, then we won’t have forked out a massive fee for him, on the other hand, we could have unearthed a HUGELY exciting and explosive future star!

🇺🇸 Cameron Carter Vickers – Loan, with an option to buy
I’ll be honest, ‘CCV’ is a bit of an enigma for me. On one hand, he seemed solid in the Championship with Bournemouth fans generally very impressed with him. His stats suggest he’s a very good tackler with a high percentage win rate, and also very good in the air. A few Cherries fans said he was a contender for MOTM in a lot of the games he played too, with his match performance ratings generally backing that up as he usually had a pretty high match score.
On the other hand, what worries me is the way this transfer came about. What I mean by that is that Spurs only wanted a PERMANENT sale for CCV and the only reason that we got him on loan was because no clubs came in for him, so at the last minute Spurs decided to send him out on loan against their wishes. What does that tell you?
Simon Deli, Kim Min-jae, Joseph Okumu, Ko Itakura and Mario Vušković are all players who signed for new clubs this summer, and all we’re affordable. Personally I would have taken any of them over CCV.
I could sit here and tell you all that I think he’s amazing, and that he’s gonna be an incredible signing, but that would be feeding you all lies, and I’m not about that. There’s absolutely no point in me saying what you WANT to hear as it would makes these posts totally obsolete.
At the end of the day, the way I’m looking at it is that he’s only on loan, with us having the option to buy. So if he isn’t great, then we can punt him back without spending millions on him. If he does turn out to be a revelation though, we can get him permanently.
I suppose you could argue it’s a win. I just think there were better options is all.
