  1. Somehow in recent years referrees have managed to squirm their way into the spotlight where we now have about 7-8 officials on a match day and now they're in the studios pretending to be pundits. It's gotten ridiculous. We're talking more about them the start of the season than we are the actual football.

  2. Gordon's foul on Trent goes unpunished but the PGMOL are more worried about "time wasting" in the 5th minute? Referees ruining the game. Trent's hand barely brushed Gordon's shoulder and he goes down like he's been punched. Maybe if the ref had done his job that would've been a 2nd yellow for Gordon for simulation?
There's no common sense in the game any more

  3. I still think they are a lot of subjective interpretation on Trent second cards, yes there was a push, but please tell me which football match has no pushing offense??? and MOST of it unpunished, even Trent was a victim that match! And the second argument about Gordon was clearly away for attacking chance was subjective too. But that was the reason it should be a foul only AND Trent got pushed from back wasn't a foul at all. No yellow card needed else Trent should got foul earlier and he won't get first yellow card then. Fair.

  4. Interesting offside before the incident was never looked at. In slow motion in looks 50/50. So why was offside before the incident never looked at?

  5. So Trent is pushed out of play (the ball NOT played) = no yellow, but Trent then holds the opposing players shirt, = yellow? The modern game IS LOST. Referees in my humble opinion ARE OBSOLETE. We have the tech to just get rid of them. Get rid of referees, so that we can enjoy IMPARTIALITY OF DECISION MAKING. ‘Nuff said.

  6. As for the Trent thing, yet again this "clear yellow card" or Dive as it actually was, is a joke also. Again numerous examples of this throughout the game the inly difference is they're mire inside than on the sidelines.

  7. It wasn't a clear cut goal scoring opportunity. Isak and Virgil were on the same line he has to be in the front of everyone to be termed a goal scoring opportunity and that's not the case here. On the Trent, if the job did his job well there shouldn't have been a yellow card in the first place fir Trent the yellow card should have gone to Gordon for dangerously pushing Trent off the pitch. Shocking no one is talking about that and focusing on the Trent's foul on Gordon. Pertinent to mention that Newcastle would not have scored any goal in that match had Trent been sent off. Sounds funny but it's a fact😮

  8. The anti Liverpool bias continues esp from Craig! I see that they didn't mention Trent was clearly fouled prior to the first booking and it should have been a yellow for Gordon! YNWA

  9. I think refereeing in premier league is worst in world.

Every season they change rules and it just makes things worse.

There's no common sense, and they just take rules to extreme, and you get no continuity in decisions, so no one, including them, understand the rules anymore.

Last season it was "letting the game flow" , and in theory that's great, but we ended up with blatant leg breaking challenges getting ignored.

This was partly due to players getting frustrated at being fouled all the time.

Knock on effect was you ended up with flurry of cards later in games after referees lost all control.

VAR gets worse instead of better. The "clear and obvious error" is a get out of jail card for them to make any calls, and we already evidence, they protect their colleagues from controversy and their mistakes.

VAR requires independent panel who can override referees.

Trent should have been given the second yellow, but first should never have been given, as it's a clear yellow to Gordon.

  10. This is one of the few times that Ale Moreno has got his analysis totally wrong!! There's no way VVD get back and makes a challenge with Isak through on the goal. Not at that pace at the time. It was a red! I wonder how anyone watching this game thinks its not.

  11. The ball changed direction even if there's contact should have been given with yellow card because Vandik is the captain and a soft player 😂

  12. What the new rules is doing is giving referees more pass for their horrendous decision making, while they can book whoever they want for whatever reason. The new rules is not stopping the deterioration of refereeing, but giving them more power to mess up.
