Central Coast Mariners Goalkeeper Danny Vukovic strikes referee Mark Shield during the A-league Grand Final, while disputing about a hand-ball within the penalty area. Danny Vukovic received a 15 month ban, with 6 months probation.

Vukovic will also miss out on competing in the olympics.

  1. I thought the punishment was harsh but I respect them for having the balls to do it. Refs have the hardest job in the world, nobody gives them the slightest bit of credit when they do a good job but one mistake and they are crucified for it. No matter how bad you think a call is there is no need to push a ref in anger. The letter of the law is the contact must be intentional which I don't think it was, the player had his head down so I don't think he meant it.

  2. people saying saying “he hi 5’d him” and “that was weak” don’t understand that your just not allowed to do that, it’s obvious that it wasn’t hard but your not allowed to do it, bad sportsmanship
