You can't argue that you don't know if it's a goal scoring opportunity if the player gets taken out beforehand. You also don't know if it's NOT a goalscoring opportunity. Isak would have been 1 on 1 if VVD didn't kick through him; whether he would have scored or not is beside the point. He was denied that a opportunity, therefore it's a clear red card.
