  1. Love the routine, only comment i have is on her switch leap to the back layout step out back layout 2 feet, is her leap wasn't quite big enough.
    But the landings were outrageous!

  2. This is my favorite beam routine of all time, her grace, power, and acrobatic skills are beautiful!

However, I will say her mount is a little less then expected… 🙂

  3. I love watching Shawn on beam. She has more confidence on the beam than some girls have got on the floor. I've seen her fall off, get back up and finish her routine with the same confidence as before. I just love the sounds of her landing on that beam. and that tumbling pass is just perfection!

  4. Watched this over and over again just to listen to those landings, just stick stick stick! no wobble just perfection!..  this routine was just bombarded with extreme difficulties.. and the execution! damn phenomenal.. best beamer ever!!

  5. This score is preposterous. They obviously didn’t deduct things like lack of extension, deep landing, etc.

  6. Hi, yes it's been a good minute since 2008, however, Shawn was the the BEST on beam….. (and floor and vault IMO)… she is so solid, difficulty is practically to the max, no lull in rhythm…. splits could be better, but damn was she elite

  7. 2022 and I feel like US gymnastics was defined by the 2008 quad and olympics.

Nastia and Shawn were just ahead of everyone else and they had such opposing builds and skills. Almost like what the other one 'lacked', the other excelled at. And it's interesting to see how Shawn's style and build became the favored as the sport evolved and changed. Have a look the 2012, 2016, and 2020/1 teams. Almost all of them took to Shawn's form. Shorter but more muscular. Built for power and lift over flexibility and length.
