9 and 8 on the season .
Bills are allegedly a SB contender. I don't see ANY other NFL team (Including the bottom feeders) currently searching the NFL dumpsters for a starting MLB, and offensive tackles. As Joe has often stated, the Bills currently don't posses a starting NFL caliber MLB, and Dawkins (Whose totally out of NFL shape) and was mostly plain awful last year, and Brown (Who has provided little confidence in 2 years) are human turnstiles. Do you really get to a SB with the problems the Bills currently have? Doubtful.
Our offensive line has been the Bills' Achilles heel for YEARS !!!! This MUST be fixed immediately if we are to have any chance of winning a Super Bowl.
Good stuff! I would add Poyer to the list to blame on the long TD. Clearly took a bad angle. That turned a good run into a monster run.
I absolutely agree. Josh's super plays when he takes off and rolls right are hit and miss. He bails too soon at times and we are so used to JA17 making big plays. When it doesn't happen we are quick to blame the O-line. Good explanation Joe.
I'm a. Bill's. Fan. Big Time. .My. thoughts are the Bill's will not make a SUPERBOWL. My. Opinion. Allen played like crap against the. Bengals. All he had to do was move the. Chains. Be. Conservative on the. Field !!!! DIGGS. doesn't wanna be a. Bill anymore. I feel. Seems that way !!!!! McDermott makes wrong calls. 13. Seconds killed the Bill's an Allen. For sure !!!!!? Bean doesn't matter who he picks up ….. Feel bad for the Bill's. Mafia an. All. ALLEN IS MORE ABOUT. GOLFING ⛳️ 🏌️♀️. INSTEAD OF. FOOTBALL. HE GOT HIS MONEY 💰 HOPE I'm wrong. Just what I see an. Read. GO. BILL'S
Year 6 and Josh still doesn't have pocket presence means he will never have it. So as soon as he loses the ability to run he will be a BAD QB. If you keep Josh in pocket force him to play QB. U get interceptions and win. Josh NEEDS to learn to let pocket develop around him also needs to learn to start to read defenses
This is when the Bills mafia hits the panic button, realizing the window has closed.
Sounds like all the hair on fire anxiety from Bills Mafia is a bit of an over-reaction. Probably important to recognize that we faced a very legit Defensive front too. This was the first time Torrence saw a 3-4 alignment so obviously there is a learning curve.
Tim Settle tripped on the back of Ford's legs. You cant just say "he got reach blocked". He may have, yes, but had no chance to fight through it.
Dorsey's plays take too long to develop.
What about trying spencer brown inside at guard?
Maybe Steph and gabe not being speed guys and getting a ton of separation and long developing routes contribute to Josh holding the ball
I read Steelers fans comments, and through the years their fans have been the most knowledgable and courteous, but times have definitely changed. They think they won the SB already. They say the Bills will win 6. 6-11 they pick us. Allen to them is a good QB above average, but that's it. WHAT!!!! I usually try to be a good ambassador for the team but I had to correct them. They were 29 for 52 yards rushing after the big play. They think they rolled us up.We had 3 picks and a fumble and still rolled up 339 yards in passing alone on them. Outside of 2, maybe 3 plays that game was mostly even. If Brown caught the ball(why he's a db, not a WR) he goes house. Groot sacked the QB who dropped the ball, but he didn't see it. He collects it there, we might have won the game. The turnovers were infuriating, but the flags were a major concern. That have to get fixed or they won't win a lot of games. It's hard to see that Pittsburgh didn't get many called. Their had to be some fouls where they didn't throw it. I'm not concerned about the season, but they have to get their concentration down. There's still a few weeks to work it out, and once cuts are made more guys get reps and improve. BTW, Doyle, I read, has a torn ACL/LCL and "drop foot" and indication the penoreal nerve is damaged. It's a part of the sciatica. Sounds like a really long road for him and I have to wonder if he calls it a day. It's just too bad. I liked him.
It seems the interior OL is much better now. JA may need to get used to stepping up-which is a good thing.
Always drink your water from that King’s Goblet Joe, no water bottles, Lol. A King has to drink from his Goblet. 😄
Excellent analysis Joe as always! I wasn’t worried that the Bills lost a pre-season game like others were. The 90’s Super Bowl Bills every year had losing pre-seasons and some of those games were blowout losses, it didn’t matter, they went to 4 Super Bowls. Back then Jets 5-0 in the pre-season and end up going 4-12 in the regular season Lol 😂
really insightful on JA. JA has to be a better pocket passer.. he's actually been struggling with this for some time, and now its exacerbating other issues on the line. And to the point of others… yep plenty of blame goes to Dorsey… who's either a 3rd-rate coach, or is just not suited to coach up JA, who everyone thinks is in a perfect place with his game, he is NOT
WHAT NFL QB LED THE LEAGUE IN REDZONE TURNOVERS AND A 50% PASS COMPLETION STAT IN THE RED ZONE LAST YEAR? HINT: HE HAS AN ACCIDENT BABY WITH A 19 YEAR OLD ABOUT TO BE BORN.
Appreciate Dion taking ownership after the game that he struggled big time
dion dawkins is done after next season and will be 30-31, so if van der mark is as good as we see in preseason and he improves next season… don't be surprised if the bills don't re-sign him and just draft another tackle or sign a cheaper option
Question
When the Bills play teams that have a fierce pass rush,
Shouldn't The OC call plays that allow the QB to get that ball out quickly?
Holding the ball waiting for plays to develop just doesn't seem to work playing the Pittsburgh Steelers.
My other Question is
Can Josh Allen be better at hamding the ball to James cook for some of these Run Plays?
I mean shouldn't Josh Allen be better at his Timing so James Cook doesn't run into a brick Wall?
I'm not an expert like many of you and especially "locked On bills"
BUT it seems like this Bills team forgot how to practice and loss their hunger
Sean Mcdermott changed something and whatever he did is resulting in sloppy play and a Bills team that doesn't seem prepared
Yes I know it's pre season
But those of us who have been watching the Bills for a long time can see that it seems like the Bills are picking up exactly where they left off against the Bengals
Just THE SAME DUMB FOOTBALL WITH A TEAM THAT LOOKS LIKE THEY DONT WANT TO BE THERE
I don't think McBeane understand how much they are on thin ice with Bills Mafia!
Things are gonna get alot louder for those 2 fellas
Josh is a beast and good as any one in the game but somtimes he checks out of plays to soin he needs to fix this but i this is preseason thats why the teams play to get all this fixed before the regular season starts
Let’s be real Kair Elam is a bust.
The IOL is much much improved, and if Dion can improve the O-line might be ok with some help from a blocking tight end on the right side
Allen’s pocket presence will get better as the season progresses not really worried about this performance. I think people are overreacting to a preseason loss
Great analysis Joe, per usual. So it sounds like the biggest issue was with our supposed MVP-caliber QB… who forgot how to navigate a pocket, unnecessarily bails, and is scrambling like he did as a rookie. Toss in a washed up secondary, JAG Jackson as CB2, a glaring weakness at MLB which will allow offenses to pick on us for easy completions over the middle, plus a non existent pass rush. Awesome. Can’t wait to see this year’s shitshow Bills. At least it’s ahead of the season, so I don’t have to waste my time
The Bills need to charge all the national sports shows a percentage for as much as they talk about the Bills especially Diggs and Allen
….or, maybe Pittsburgh has a really good defense??
Anytime I see All-Pros in a defensive backfield like the Bills have in White, Hyde, and Porter, and I see a 62yd run from a backup running back, it screams scheme problems. For the majority of the game aside from the Frieirmuth touchdown, it looked like the defense was simply not in any position to make the play. Good luck this season with that offensive line. Looks like Allen is going to get hurt.
Mr Marino. I don’t have the ability to watch the film. It seemed to me like the Bills defense was almost identical to what they ran in the Colts game. Do you think it’s possible the Steelers game planned for that defense, and that’s why they were so effective against us? Seemed like the Bills just did the same safety blitz off the edge that they did against the Colts. Why wouldn’t the Steelers game plan to beat that type of defense?
Bills D line needs to get a pass rush. Even poor NFL QB's can look good if they don't have much pressure.
So it's Josh's fault that this offensive lie sucks ass? Is it also Josh's fault that the RB's can't run too?
Perhaps the bills should have kept the middle linebacker. Let Milano go and Start at williams at outside linebacker started Williams this year because he looks dynamic.
From the outside looking in, this played out like a trap game for the Bills. Is it possible in the preseason to take a team for granted? Sure looked like it to me…
I didn’t watch this yet, but it seemed like his protection was good, but he got ANSI would leave the pocket and run in to pressure. I’ll be interested to see what you think about this.
Good for you Joe in calling out the miscues of Allen; I had the same observation. Allen is sometimes is own worse enemy 11:12
Maybe he doesn’t trust the guys up front to protect and that’s why he’s bailing out early? Maybe he just wanted to get out of Pittsburgh unscathed?
It is an actual crime that Stephen A Smith and Nick Wright are nationally televised and Joe isn’t
Bills win 7 games this year
What you should expect from a low IQ dude pretending to be a QB. The media has always driven this lie. If QB they like the looks of then its the Offensive line fault for sacks. If passing attack is bad its the lack of WR talent. If the win are not there its the Offensive Coordinator fault. If the leadership of men not present in QB it's the head coach fault. All in name of keeping certain faces they like to represent league. Owners are in on this as well. But nature is taking it's rightful course anyway. Eventually it will be no more of these unqualified, entitlement guys under center.
Regarding LBs … Just put Milano at MLB and Dorian at WLB….
Defenses hear hey I'm josh allen..I'm not going to run..duh..defenses will tee off..
The colts in the Manning era played a lot of stinkers but when the regular season started the colts looked unbeatable. Calm down!
