el duque was always a money pitcher..and of course he threw a strike…with his glove!
Good Thing That Oddity Was Aired On FOX With Joe Buck In It

best play ever
El poop
On the day of a subway series game, I pulled up this memory. How many current players would think this fast?
The batter would have made it if he had actually sprinted to first instead of being lazy.
I was at this game when I was 10…. Very confusing at the time 🤣
too bad this was a rare thing to happened. the 3rd base coach didn’t know if he should run the guy on 3rd being it’s prob his 1st time in that situation.
I remember this!! 😂🤣
Cuando la mlb era mlb
El Duque was one of my favorite pitchers. I was always confident the Yankees were gona win when he pitched. I loved the way he cocked his leg up to his chin. David Wells, Mussina and Pettie were also great. That Yankee team was the best.
Was he using a sticky substance or something?
How can a ball get stuck in a glove?
This was a great day of New York sports. This was going on followed by Lemon Drop Kid foiling Charismatic's Triple Crown at Belmont followed by Knicks/Pacers playoff game which ended up being the LJ 4-Point Play game.
The weird part is Tino didn’t look surprised to complete the play as the glove flew towards him as if it was routine
Le Salio el barrio al duke. 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄😄

Some of my friends have been making very hurtful remarks about my choosing to wear mittens rather than gloves, but I don't like to point fingers.
Met El Duque in Chicago while visiting a hotel the Yankees were staying in. We walked up upon El Duque cussing some guy out for bothering him while El was on the phone with his mother who was trapped in Cuba at the time. We were shocked and I was like 'wow, there's something wrong with this guy.' While walking back to the hotel El Duque was walking towards us, stopped and personally apologized for the incident. He explained that he didn't get much time to talk to his mother and the guy was pestering him for autographs, although I did feel sorry for the guy who got the brunt of it in his face. It was understandable and that changed my mind about El just being a normal person. I probably would've done the same in that situation, I can't really imagine. Plus you have to hand it to the guy, he literally built a raft and floated to America risking his life for asylum here in the states. That took a ton of guts because those currents could've carried him out to sea also. But it wasn't hard to get his papers once he got here. He was at the time on the national team for Cuba and one of its greatest players. MLB was looking for his services and the only way he could participate was to defect. It was one way for him to get freedom and possibly for his family as well and so his life went beyond just baseball. It really makes you think about immigration and how we need to make it a better system.
Según el video podía sacar la pelota del guante, lo que el hizo es una prueba , si se caía era garrafal
the runner on 3rd was so in shock he couldnt even think straight even the pitcher motioned that he was ready to catch the glove 😂😂😂😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
投手はナイス判断だね!
Lol I remember this 😂, it was great! Haha
When are we gonna see this animation in the show?
That was fun to watch but I was more impressed by his sidearm delivery. He had a ton of different arm angles, windups, pitches etc. Wish there was a video on his whole arsenal.
impressive text book catch by Tino Martinez

He must've had so much pine tar in that glove
How does the ball get stuck in the glove so badly that you have to do this?
