people cheering on jack's abysmal 90 mins in the live chat.. guy did fuck all. doesn't know what to do with the ball. doesn't take on players down the line to cross it in with his left. doesn't cross the ball in first time, always has to take 2-3 touches letting the defence get back into shape and wasting haaland's run only to hit the ball at the oposition. guy needs to be given a break and some much needed competition on the left. can put out stinker after stinker and still gets game time. guy could get away with murder in pep's eyes it seems. zero creativity, zero threat, zero effectiveness. only thing he did was track back well, might as well make him a defender at this point. him and kyle on either side 💀
I think the best thing about this game is how Foden played. Watching the super cup game, i think Haaland was demoralized with the KDB news from his body language. But i think we’ll see him back to his best because from tonight, he knows Foden can find him when he makes those runs.

Newcastle players were dirty players,trying to injure the City players and the sad part is that the ref,either chose not to book them or simply was biased.
I'm shocked at how we've started the season with coming off the back of a treble and then the super cup plus injuries to key players youd have put your house on us being tired and getting battered.
Though pur players are tired and worn out so pep needs to be very careful we don't end up with more injuries, I know people say it's just football but come on elite level intense running for 90mins a game training travel hardly any rest our players will be shattered and they still keep winning they are all hero's.
Foden is well and truly back to his best form now this season he's a delight to watch even without de bruyne we have no problems at all foden can step up and do his role. He's a phenomenal young man and the whole team is phenomenal. That's why I love Manchester city great for us to get a win tonight. Let's keep the wins coming. Certainly, we would like to see Manchester City score more of their chances… But I was so impressed with how Man City defended & dominated possession. Pretty much completely nullified the offense of a very good New Castle team. Foden must've got the message from Pep & the fans. Because he played 1 of his best games in 2 years! Ruben Dias might be the best centre-back in the world?! Kovacic is such a natural fit in Pep's system. And a nice finish by El Arana! All & all a great result. Let's go men! C'mon CITY!!!🙌💙

It's hard to understand how some guys were freaking out before the game saying stuff like we need to go and buy this and that player because we're weak, I said relax mates ,we have Hasland, Julian Alvarez, Rodri, Foden , Díaz , Akanji, I said it again we have a super squad that is fear by all the rest of the teams in the PL , ,, enough of being doubtful .
I for sure thought this match was going to end in a draw or a loss. But we dominated this game. Pep always has a solutiion. But one thing i liked about Foden today was his mentality. He kept running from 1 min to 90 min. He kept telling the players to stay focused in the dying minutes of the game. In simple words, he was the key and the leader in this game.
Beating Newcastle without our best players but we need to buy players? We've been spoiled. Akanji is crucial.
Not one mention of Alvarez in the comments, if Haaland would have scored and specially a finsh like that every comment would be what a beast the android is 🙄

Steven you need to callout rival fans and pundits. 1st arsenal was going to stop us last season Then west ham, then big sams Leeds, and then we were going to be weaker this season. Put respect on man city's name. They mean they (hope) man city are weaker and lose.

As a toon fan very disappointed with our performance, think we bottled it. We are a team in building which will take more than two seasons to catch up. City dominated the game and deserved the win. Foden top class. Beware though because we're coming for you ha ha
I mean with Gundo gone, Mahrez gone, Kovavic and Gvardiol still bedding in, Stones out, Silva out, De Bryune out, I thought we'd be fucked…But even under those circumstances, we still managed to kick arse, high-possession, high pass-rate, top outcome….
Newcastle fan but you guys were just another level I really thought Akanji in the midfield role was really good if I had a critique of City it would be Jack I think his lack of attacking quality really shows he constantly shoots at defenders or takes too many touches and does a terrible cross

Phil was superb. It took a little while but he ran the show and was deserved motm.
The whole team, for the most part, were brilliant especially Kovacic, Rodri, Dias, Akanji and Walker.
Gvardiol looked at home but i think he will end up being our CH rather than LB.
That win was a lot easier than i thought it would be. We controlled the game and should've won by more. It was also helped that Newcastle didn't really show any desire to win the game, all they wanted to do was kick us off the park.
