  1. Iran doesn't have a single player you know and Wales best player is in the MLS. After that it's a coin toss who we play… None of you know anything about the group of 16 yet, so stop acting like we would face Brazil FFS.

  2. If you focus on the whole staircase you'll miss the step right in front of you.

Put all your focus on that next step in front of you, and make it the best you possibly can.

  3. The team if they move out of group play it will because of the talent, and not based on the tactics of this coach… the team struggles under Greg's verticality system..

  4. This whole “best athlete” thing is nonsense. With very rare exceptions, in order to play the lucrative American sports like football and basketball you have to be very large (football) or tall (basketball). Those sports by definition are picking from a very small percentage of the population. Soccer players are of average size and height. The pool to pick from is huge, and thus the actual athletic quality is HIGHER in soccer than it is in the NBA or NFL. Put another way, one of the greatest athletes in history, Lionel Messi, could not play professional football or basketball due to his below average size, and would be doubtful even for baseball for the same reason. NFL and NBA players are larger and taller, but they are not, and never have been, better athletes.

  5. I think the bar right now for Gregg Berhalter is quarterfinals. If he does that, his job will be safe, everyone will praise him as a coach etc. But if that's the bar, then you should try and take first so avoid the Netherlands.

  6. As much as Berhalter can be a good man-manager he is not a great tactician!! And there is only one another national manager that is like that and we all know who it is!!

  7. Gregg’s view on captaincy sums up what he is as a coach. He never takes initiative and changes things up when he sees that something is going wrong. He is weak on the sideline and the locker room and his team shows it.

  8. He'll lose badly, like 1-3, in the first match then be forced to concede that his MLS quota isn't gong to get it done, that Dest can't mark or play point defense against the like of Bale, and that Pulisic has to be at the tip of the spear- a #9 role. Then we'll advance.

  9. the group knows you cheated to get the job Greg!!
you've already lost the locker room and quickly using up the goodwill built up by the previous coaching staff.

  10. Do you have a team that can win the world cup?

    NO!!
I left all the good experienced players at home. then, i picked and chose my favorites even if they couldn't play the system i want to play.

then we lost to Japan badly. lucky the score line was only 2-0. Then we barely got away with a 0-0 draw with the Saudis.

Now, i don't know if we can play out of the back like my EGO thought we could.

    Mommy!!??

  11. imagine klisnmann hv this group? i think he go far. i remember when people hate him for recruiting outside mls player? everybody say hes being bias and look now almost everybody outside mls players

  12. I can't wait til he's out as manager. Gregg played his part in getting a great crop of young players in through the national squad, but he's done as much as he could and it's time to go. You gotta manage to their strengths and he refuses to do that.

  13. The most important thing for the team is to get a new head coach after this tournament.

Whatever needs to be done to change the head coach, that's what I hope that they are able to do.

    Let's go team!

  14. I would like to remind Americans of their defenders and who they play for club wise compared to Wales' attackers. You also seem to think Wales' defence can't cope with your attack when the reality is that our defence all play in top leagues in Europe and that they have already played against world class opposition already this year.

  15. Imagine not naming a captain ages ago. Every team needs a leader on the pitch, the guy who is the first port of call for the other players, the guy the youngsters look up to and take important advice from, the player who represents your country infront of the worlds media. It sounds like he is going to get your captain picked by some committee. To me that is pure insanity. Your captain should have been picked years ago and settled into the role by now.

  16. Is that with the assumption that the other teams would not be on their best day? Because let’s be honest, the US at their best is nowhere near Brazil, Argentina, France, Spain, Belgium, shoot not even Ghana at their best.
