Ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup final between Spain and England (live on RTÉ2 and RTÉ Player from 10am Sunday), Mikey Stafford is joined by Anthony Pyne and Megan Campbell to preview the Sydney showdown.
Megan says the hype has been a little low key in England, but hopes are high for a final befitting what has been a superb tournament.
Sarina Wiegman is being talked up as a potential successor to Gareth Southgate as men’s manager, but in contrast her counterpart Jorge Vilda is largely seen as an unwanted passenger in Spain’s journey.
Wiegman has a decision to make with Lauren James available after suspension, with the team that started against Australia in the semi-final making the return of the Chelsea star far from a foregone conclusion.
Spain’s team is more settled, even if that means an impact role for the hugely talented, insanely quick Salma Paralleulo.
As to who will win? All three stump for England, but you must listen for Megan’s incredibly precise prediction.

  1. The reason why there hasn't been much talk about it compared to the Euros is because of the time difference. This is why the broadcasters wanted to pay less.
