Holding a slender advantage in their opening day fixture against St Mirren, Motherwell had to dig in to keep their lead.
As St Mirren created opening, had it not have been for Captain Liam Kelly pulling off to wonderful saves, Motherwell could have been leaving Paisley with no points instead of all three.
