In September 2019, Inter Miami owners Jorge Mas and David Beckham met with Lionel Messi’s father in Barcelona. This was before Messi’s move to PSG. The seed was sewn.
Four years later the relationship between Miami and Messi had flourished. This is the story of massive global commercial deals, future security and how Messi plans to change the MLS for good.

How hard is it for British people to say "Lionel"
It's still so weird to me. MLS is such a garbage league. It feels wrong for them to have a player like him, even after Zlatan's brief stint here.
Mind blown. This side of football is really fascinating. The business stuff is good to hear.
Bring back the other commentator this guy stinks!
Im happy the sport is growing here. To me the USA is like a sleeping giant just waiting to unleash a near unlimited stream of world class athletes onto the world. Still gonna call it soccer tho haha
You heard it hear first folks! This Messi guy is worth the hype! wow!
Can't be overstated too how much a difference it likely made for Messi and his family to live in Miami where the majority of people speak Spanish as opposed to Saudi Arabia where basically nobody does
messi is going to turn america into a soccer powerhouse trust me. every coach in the country is studying his every movement, every idea, every use of space, etc. masterclass. look out world football, america will be here to stay within the next decade.
Gross favoritism from the league and bending the rules. That’s how. It also lets MLS skyrocket ticket prices. Inter Miami is a synthetic club. The only good thing about it is that it’ll be gone in 20 years with the rest of Florida
Tifo to a synthetic cash grab: 😮🍆
every time I hear Miami mentioned I think of that Will Smith song. I think it was called "Wild Wild West". I saw it when I was in Miami. It was terrible and I doubt it was based on a true story like they claimed it was.
By paying money, lots and lots of money
Absolutely loving the 1080p in 60 frames per second
Speaking publicly as a Miami player, Messi just seems to be vibing playing for a city where he can both be loved, anonymous, and not persecuted. Just enjoying his soccer.
Could you please do an analysis of how Messi plays for MIAMI?
How Tata Martino uses Messi for Miami.
What is the background at 0:28 it's awful editing
Neymar should have followed Messi to MLS. Such a shame he sold out to Saudis….
Messi shopping in Publix is still one of my favorite things
You people just made me want to play Hotline Miami again.
How tf do you pronounce his first name wrong. It's not Lion-all it is Leo-nel.
Wow, he sounds like a great player
Though he will be playing against my home team, I am so excited for this man to bring growth to my nation’s league.
A true example of a good marquee signing. It shows as well the mess that is PSG
LEE-OH-NELL. Come on. It’s like calling Cristiano, Christiano. I’m not even Spanish speaking ffs lol
Nice video, you may want to fix the graphic in 3:01–3:08
Is it just me or does Jorge Messi looks like Ricardo Montaner? 😅
I'd like to see a video on how the could afford Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.
we want the old narrator
I purchased the Apple TV subscription and it was so bad.
Very laggy stream. Not worth the price
He just want to have less intense job and enjoying life with his family..
The greatest of all time.
YEAAAAAH AN MLS VIDEO
Money is ruining football. English fans say the stadiums have no atmosphere now because their filled with middle class gits rustling sweetie wrappers😂
Sad for European football, but he has a few easy years ahead of him before retiring as a billionaire. I´d rather be one in Miami than in Saudi.
messi only chose mls because he didn't want to play serious anymore, he's kind tired of the real competition
