I remember crying when I was a kid after hearing the news about the accident of The Best Mexican Boxer ever and I still drop a tear here and there when I see Sanchez highlights, specially the fight vs Wilfrido Gomez.

I remember watching the Canelo vs Chavez Jr fight and people at the watch party asked who my favorite Mexican boxer is and I told them Salvador Sanchez. They acted like he was a Made up fighter. They said Chavez Sr. was better. I told them… even Chavez Sr. Would tell you he wasn't better than Sanchez.
I think he was only 23 or so when he died. He didn't even reach his full potential yet.

Sanchez died at 23 years of age. He hadn't even reached his ceiling. That is what is horrifying about Sanchez, people already call him a monster of a fighter but he hadn't even reached his full potential. Had he fought till retirement, his case as the Greatest Mexican Boxer would have been Undisputed.
