I have just watch this and I looks to me like Joe Marler instigated the fight by pulling the scrum cap, he did the same to James Haskell in another game by grabbing the scrum cap. Then he looks at the Ref as to say look he hit me back, the ref was right to send them both off.
i am not a rugby fan and dont know the rules, but marler has his hand inside the dudes cap and is pulling it up. thats what prompts the head butts. i have to imagine that you cant crank someone's head like that. sort of like a face mask in football.
the ref should of jumped on that quicker. I know you shouldn't react, but 2 headbutts (and he would of definitely done more both stopping), he was defending himself. the guy held his head in position to try and break his nose even.
