Manchester City secured its first victory in the opening match of the 2023/2024 Premier League. Man City won 3-0 over Burnley at Turf Moor, Saturday (13/8/2023).
Man City’s two goals were scored in the first half. Erling Haaland is the culprit. The first goal was scored in the 4th minute, then the second in the 36th minute.
One more goal that was created for Man City was created in the 75th minute. This time it was Rodri’s turn to get his name on the scoreboard.
These results put Man City as the defending champions at the top of the standings. Burnley, as champions of the 2022/2023 Championship, must sit quietly at the bottom of the standings.
First round
It didn’t take long for Man City to break into Burnley’s goal. In the 4th minute or 185 seconds after kick-off, Man City took the lead through Erling Haaland’s strike.
In a post-corner situation, Rodri, who was on the left, received the ball well, then released a pass into the middle. Haaland, who was in the middle of the crowd, grabbed the bait first. Goal.
Haaland came close to scoring his second goal in the 11th minute had his right-footed shot from very close range not gone over the bar.
