Trade Nola after October.
He’s struggling, bad. Pitch execution beyond the first inning is the name of the game with Nola. He struggled mightily last night. Defense also let him down as they have all season, resulting in him throwing 11 extra pitches. I really think he needs a month off to reset, because working through it clearly isn’t working. His Velo and extension has returned, but the ball looks different coming out of his hand. His curveball has lost a ton of horizontal tilt and his revised changeup has been completely ineffective against righties. He’s terrified to throw his cutter because he has a tendency to hang it. I dunno, I think he needs a month off. I still think he can perform at a high level and hope we can extend him. He’s only 30 and is guaranteed to give us 180-200+ innings a season. We’d be crazy not to retain him. For the right price, that is.
