On today’s episode, Martin Devlin covers off the naming of the Springboks Rugby World Cup squad. There are three major omissions, with Handrè Pollard, Lukhanyo Am and Lood de Jager all missing out due to injury. Siya Kolisi has been included as captain despite not having played a test so far in 2023. Longtime South African rugby reporter Andy Capostagno joins the show, and isn’t confident the Boks can successfully defend their World Cup title in France.

Plus, experienced rugby league commentator David Morrow, who works for The Continuous Call Team across the ditch, talks about the main contenders in the NRL as the finals draw near, and the doyen of New Zealand sports broadcasting Brendan Telfer discusses the Silver Ferns’ poor Netball World Cup finish. All that and much more!

  1. How many sports involve driving high speed cars or other sports of high speed. Maybe Martin would get stoned and drive around a race track at 300kph. A well know NZ darts player once won a NZ ranking tournament stoned which enabled him to block the mind part of the game out and qualified for the world champs over someone else. He was tested, found positive, and they still let him off. And he would never have won had he not been stoned.
