Deal Day Exclusive: Sofyan Amrabat Makes His Mark at Old Trafford!
After another summer of transition at Old Trafford, Manchester United head into the final weeks of the window and are yet to the last signing.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag had seen enough from his midfielders last season to greenlight a major reshuffle ahead of his second season in charge.

The club have already splashed the cash to bring in Mason Mount from Chelsea and the new Number 7 expected to play alongside Casemiro in midfield

Fred has secured a move to Fenerbahce while Real Sociedad are progressing in talks to sign Donny van de Beek on an initial loan with the obligation to buy.

If three key midfielders leave, Ten Hag will require an additional body to come in and United have been long linked with Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat.

Amrabat’s arrival will ensure United have the perfect Casemiro backup, with the Red Devils struggling when he was suspended on three separate occasions.

Recently, there have been reports of Atletico Madrid and Juventus trying to hijack the deal but the midfielder has always maintained that he wants to join United.

He even rejected a much more lucrative financial package from Saudi Arabia to join Ten Hag’s project at the Theatre of Dreams.

If a move does go through, there are perhaps questions about how he might fit in. Would he get into United’s best starting eleven, Probably he might but the first-choice midfield will likely be Casemiro, Mason Mount and Bruno Fernandes.

Amrabat is a dominant central midfielder with lots of personality. He always demands the ball and is physically strong in possession, and very difficult to shrug off. Although he is not the quickest player, he is very press resistant and is outstanding at keeping the ball when pressured by opponents.

His natural role is as a number six, playing as a holding midfielder whose primary role is to protect his defence and break up attacks. He is an aggressive and tough tackler, who is never scared to put his foot in.

Amrabat, meanwhile, is said to have been identified by United as specialist cover for Casemiro in the engine room and previously worked under Erik ten Hag during his time at Utrecht. He managed to grab 10 assists in 50 games under the Dutchman’s guidance and could seemingly reunite with his former manager at Old Trafford if everything goes to plan for the Red Devils this summer
