Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, spoke about the increased pressures players are facing in an ever more demanding fixture schedule on a domestic and international level.
He also spoke in admiration of Phil Foden’s versatility as a player and hinted he could settle on a role for England international this coming season.
“Phil can play in five positions up front. A striker, left winger, right winger, attacking midfielder’s position so he can play everywhere. Just in the middle he has to be more careful in many, many, aspects Of course he has something special in that position,” said Guardiola.
“With Gundo (Ilkay Gundogan) leaving maybe he can play more in that position but we will see,” he added.
